Breakfast options at Nickelodeon Hotel

I was just wondering what the onsite breakfast choices are at Nick Hotel. I know they have both the character breakfast buffet as well as a non character bfast buffet, but are there any ala carte options or breakfast platters that are non buffet? I cannot imagine eating a buffet every morning and we like to eat early ( before heading to the parks and don't eat donuts etc.) I don't think the rooms ( we have a spongebob 2 bedroom suite with bunkbeds) have toasters so I am thinking toast is out. Please help. Thanks

There really aren't many other options that I remember. I don't recall the food court being opened for breakfast, what can nathan's subway and pizza hut offer for breakfast. One morning we ate at the character breakfast, another we went to IHOP.

Thanks for info. I think I saw a coffee shop was in the food court? They are probably open early right? do they sell muffins, toast, etc. or does the restuarant in the hotel sell any ala carte bfast items or have a menu you can order off of that you know of? Thanks

I don't remember a coffee shop, I don't drink coffee. There might have been one, but I didn't notice it. I never saw any menus for breakfast, only buffet...

Am I correct in thinking that even though we have a kitchenette that there is no toaster in the rooms? That would solve alot of this issue!!!! Thanks

we also stayed in a spongebob suite!!

i dont recall a coffee shop; however, there is a small convenience shop in the hotel that might sell donuts - they did sell chocolate milk, snacks etc.

you may want to check with nick hotel about the toaster. we did not use a toaster, but, there might have been one in one of the kitchen cabinets. the price they will charge you for the breakfast buffet, it might be just as easy/economical to spend a few bucks on a toaster while you are there - or throw a cheap one in your suitcase :thumbsup2

hunter's mom -

We just got back from a night at the Nick hotel yesterday. There is a small shop in the Mall that sells donuts, milk, individual cereals and poptarts. You are correct that there is no toaster in the room. There is no coffee shop, just the breakfast buffet (very expensive imho $46 for two adults and two children) or the Cafe' which has the character breakfast. The food court stands (Subway, Pizza Hut and A&W) are not open for breakfast. There also is Barnie's coffee that had a small selection of muffins and pastries in the mall.

I hope this helps. I understand your dilemma, if we were staying more than one night, we would probably grab donuts or some such. We just thought the buffet was so expensive compared to what DDs actually ate!

Have a wonderful trip!

Kim

Thanks Kcross3625! How was the buffet, despite it being expensive? Was it tasty with alot of choices? I think maybe we will just pack a small toaster and even leave it there if we can't bring it back. We like breakfast, but something not sweet and not a buffet every morning. Oh, almost forgot, are the rooms equipt with bowls, spoons etc for ceral or should we bring those too?

The buffet had eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and pancakes, bagels, cereals, toast, grits & oatmeal, coffee, juices and soda for drinks. The food was OK, our only problem was that DD10 loves pancakes, but the pancakes had grape jelly on them already (the pancakes were sort of folded over and had jelly in the middle). She does NOT eat grape jelly. I thought that was a little odd, considering most people probably don't put jelly on their pancakes.

I honestly don't know if the room had dishes. I don't remember opening the cabinets in the kitchette! Really tired that night I guess. I'm sure you could call the hotel and ask. The individual cereals they sell in the shop came in plastic bowls that you remove the top and pour the milk in. The shop also had plastic spoons over by the coffee area.

We will probably never go back (been twice) because we like condos better for an off site choice, but if you're going - my advice...

- No toaster, but we bought one our first trip for $9 from Wal Mart. We brought it home and took it back on our 2nd visit.

- The buffet's are not inexpensive, and not great quality. We ended up eating mostly pop tarts, toaster strudels, and cereal for breakfast. The fridge is tiny (think dorm room), but big enough for milk (half gallon, I think), and lunch stuff (which we packed most every day).

- There is a coffee place that does have AWESOME muffins. I actually snuck down most mornings and had one of those ;)

Have fun!

Thank you to all who have answered and provided me with help on this one. One last question, I promise: Do they supply packets of coffee for the in room coffee pots or do I need to bring my own? Thanks again!

Does anyone know if coffee is provided for in room coffee pots and how big the pots are or should I bring my own coffee for the mornings? Thanks
