AKL-Jambo or Kidani? Boma is at Jambo. Akershus @ Epcot. 'Ohana still doable but with planning & losing park time due to travel. Also, depends on family (you didn't say), park time FP+, etc.

Boma has a wonderful buffet breakfast & jungle juice (yummy!). Omelets made to order, Mickey waffles, pancakes, hot & cold meats, fresh bakery breakfast items, fruit, oatmeal, etc. No characters, just great food. Convient if staying @ AKL-Jambo. If @ Kidani you can take any of the buses, all stop @ Jambo, but may have to wait. Kidani also offers shuttle just to Jambo.

Akershus is princess character meal. Photo op with Belle before seated @ table. Princess parade with all kids. Usually Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White & Aurora. But subject to change & have been different on occasion. Sausage, bacon, eggs, hash brown casserole brought to table. You can request more. This is very good. Buffet includes pastries, cold cuts, fruit, bagels. Very filling, tasty if you like these foods. DD6 loves the portion that comes to the table, only likes fruit & croissant from buffet.

Menu & experiences can be found at allears.net.

Really depends on age group, time of breakfast, which park you're going to ('Ohana is great-meal served family style including Mickey waffle, eggs, bacon, etc. & can request more) ---will lose park time & will take time to get to there & then to park so depends on type of day planned, any time constraints, plans for the day, foods you like, experience you want, etc.

FWIW, we had a 9am B on trip last year, but didn't plan on being at park before 11am, MK. This was @ end of trip so just doing rides DD liked, pre FP+. This past June we didn't think it was worth the travel, loss of park time, FP+ schedules. We were at AKL-Kidani for a 5D trip.

Enjoy!

I have a 6 year old boy, an 18 month girl and 3 yr old girl...I want great food..but I don't want so much travel time unless it's worth it. .I feel bad to cancel be ohana was so hard to get and I finally got it...akershus is at epcot where I am going ..boma is at my hotel. ..leaving me with 9th and which in not convenient but I went through sleepless nights getting good it..I could take a taxi their to save time..is it worth it...does boma really have mickey waffles. .didn't see it on the menu.

When is your trip? Have you made FP reservations?

AKL-Kidani is DVC, but you can make cash reservations based on availability.

This is a tough decision, especially since 'Ohana breakfast reservations can be hard to get.

Mickey Waffles were available on our June trip @ Boma. Akershus doesn't have waffles. Taxi would be about $20. Saves some time, but taxi has certain drop of points that will add to time to enter restaurant. Not sure about that now with construction & walls. Also, time wise, FYI- Jambo is 2nd pick-up after Kidani & you may not be able to load 1st bus.

It really comes down to which experience you want & how flexible you are with your schedule. FWIW, all are doable. One is very convient (Boma), another is easy if you plan your travel time (Akershus), and the last is also a great meal ('Ohana), you just have to plan-allow travel time to there, as well as time to travel to EP. So you may have to be more flexible with plans for the day.

All 3 are great meals, but each has a different experience. BTW- I don't know if I mentioned in 1st reply. 'Ohana does a parade with the characters & kids around the restaurant like @ Akershus with the princesses.

Happy planning!

We love Boma. It is our tradition to eat breakfast there the last day of our trips. The food is excellent. There is a huge assortment, made to order eggs and omelets, traditional American and African breakfast foods too.

My girls and I did the princess breakfast at Akershus the last trip and I couldn't tell you much about the food. Its just typical breakfast food but they loved the meeting the princesses.

So if you are looking for great food I would go with Boma :)

If you're looking for a character experience, then Akershus would be more convenient than Ohana.

But if you're looking for better food, Boma wins. It's just so good, and IMO the best breakfast buffet at WDW. We've never stayed at AKL, but we go out of our way to eat at Boma for breakfast.

My trip is nov 10...going to Epcot that day which s why I suggested akershus..if I take a taxi to Ohana..is there a cheaper one than mears?:):cool1::cool1:

I haven't found one that was under $20 for that distance. We used a taxi for several non-park restaurants, b/c my mom has MS & walking constraints. Also, not sure about taxis outside of Mears. If you go through resort, it's Mears. And it's generally Mears that are in the resort parking lots. Probably different if you go through yellow pages??? You have to take into account your party size & distance.
