MY DD and I are running the Castaway Cay 5K. Is there a place to eat breakfast after we finish the race?

Also, can my husband eat somewhere on the ship before he gets off? He isn't running and will probably sleep in.

Sorry, don't know what ship you're on, but basically (on the Fantasy) Cabanas serves breakfast from 6:00 to 10:45 (Continental style 6:00-7:30). And Enchanted Garden is 7:30 to 9:30, while Royal Palace is 8:00 to 9:30.

Not on Castaway Cay, unless you are very slow. Cookies and Cookies, Too open at 11:30am
;) Cabanas, on the ship, opens at 7am.

Usually there is fruit out over by Cookies and sometimes the ice cream machine :goodvibes by the time we finished, but your best bet is to eat something light for breakfast before getting off the ship for the 5K.

Not to hijack the thread, but how early can people usually leave the boat on CC? How early does the 5K start?

I am debating about doing the 5K, but I also have a cabana rented. I want to know timeframe to see how much time will be consumed by departing ship, running the 5K, getting back on the boat, showering, eating breakfast, and leaving the boat for the cabana. Cabanas are expensive and I want to get as much use out of it as possible.

When we had a cabana I just got everything I needed, gave it to DH (who doesn't find nearly-5K in the Bahamas sunshine nearly as much fun as I do), and we met at the cabana and I changed into my swimsuit then rinsed off the sweat in the outdoor shower at the cabana.

When I do NOT have a cabana I go back to the ship (where DH and DS are sleeping in until I get there), but that day DS was running with me and we, like you, wanted to get all the time at the cabana that we could.

When I've done the 5K we get off the ship later than many have experienced. I have yet to disembark the ship for the free island 5K before official "everyone can leave" time. Some experience being first off the ship.

Also, I'm slow. If you're fast then you might be able to run, get back, showered, etc, quicker than I would. :)

Since it varies by sailing, I would play it by ear. If you're getting off the ship later, just consider doing what I did for our cabana day. If your meeting time is early and you think you'll be first off the ship, and if you're fast, then go on back.

OP there's also the room service option. I tend to get some fruit and definitely coffee sent to the room so I can get up and ready and eat at the same time.

When I did the 5k and had a cabana, we disembarked just as passengers not running were getting off at 8:30 ish. By the time we got to the starting point it was near 9am. When I finished, I walked to my cabana where I had a breakfast of a banana and a Kashi bar from the snack basket they have there.I waited about 15 minutes for my family to arrive with my swimsuit, maybe 10am. Like Bubmershoot, I changed into my swimsuit and rinsed off at the cabana. Great way to finish up a 5k!

So we had a cabana both times we ran. Leave our bags in the big bin right near the start. We just head to the cabana check in right after the race. Shower and change right at the cabana and outdoor shower. Snacks of fruit, cold wet towels after a hot run. Like heaven! Saves time- maximizes cabana time as well.

thank you all for the info. I will probably run the 5K and do as you all have suggested and go straight to the cabana. Here at home I run an average of 10.5 minute miles, so I can finish around 9:40ish and be at the cabana no later than 10. :thumbsup2
