My wife and I are visiting in May were planning to start one of our days in Epcot with breakfast at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie.

I have just found out that the world showcase only opens at 11am.
But I have seen opening times for the Patisserie listed as 9am.

Can anyone explain what's going on here?

Thanks

Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie now opens at 9 AM for breakfast. The rest of the France Pavilion remains closed until 11 AM.

The Patisserie and Akershus are the ONLY things open in WS before 11:00. If you're entering EP from the regular entrance, it will be quite a hike back to the Patisserie and a big time consumer as it is on the opposite side of the lagoon. If you're entering from International Gateway (the back entrance), then it is a quick stop on your way to FW.

We did it last trip.

Be aware there are CM's directing most people (from International Gateway entrance) away from WS and towards FW, don't get discouraged, just let them know you are going to breakfast and they'll wave you on by and wish you a magical day.

we got some great pictures in the France pavilion without another soul in sight.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I've booked some rides for us in future world first thing and plan to eat at the Patisserie at about 10:30.

We are planning on visiting Beaches and Cream at some point.

Is it possible to get a bus from Saratoga Springs to the International gateway at Epcot?

Or would you have to travel to Downtown and catch a bus to Beach Club resort?

Thanks for the input. I want to do that for, among other things, the opportunity get some awesome photos.

There are no busses to the IG as the IG is simply the back entrance into Epcot from the Epcot resorts, so you would have to take a bus to one of the 5 Epcot Resorts and then walk to the IG.

In order of closest to the IG, the resorts would be Beach Club, Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Dolphin and Swan.

Once you get to any of the Epcot resorts you can then walk to the IG or take the boats that travel around Crescent lake.

There isn't a direct bus to International Gateway it is an entrance way for the Epcot resorts. The only way to get to it is to take a bus from DTD or another park to one of the Epcot resorts. Beach club is the closest. Unless you have a car but you will only be able to park there for 3 hours our you can take a taxi.

You could also take the bus to Hollywood Studios and then catch the boat or walk to the YC/BC to get to Beaches and Cream. :)

I wonder if they let you in early so you have time to make it to France by 9am. Hmmm...

Do you mean from the IG or from the main entrance?

I know that IG opens before 8:45 to allow IG guests to make it to Future World in time to meet the main entrance guests.

But I have been held up until 9:00am at the bridge between UK and France waiting for Les Halles to open.

Yeah, my idea of rope drop is to get a breakfast pastry before anyone else....

:lmao:Although we LOVE fresh breakfast pastries, I actually had in mind getting to the Frozen line before anyone else (aside from the lucky ones that scored Akershus ressies), but thanks for the belly laugh!

Are you sure this is correct? I read in another thread that the MG opens 15-minutes before the AG. I would love to know which is true since we only have ONE day at the resort *sniff* and really need to make the most of our time there.

You are correct - MG opens early consistently, but IG is more hit-or-miss and often opens later than MG.

FYI, we did Frozen meet and greet on Sunday, and by 9:10, the wait was 3 hours.

I recommend taking the bus to HS and then the boat to BC. I made the mistake a few trips back dragging my parents on the EPCOT route to get to the YC. It was a really long walk. The boat is relaxing too.
