Breakfast at AK and still make EE for 9am?

If you had a breakfast booked for 8.10am (I think that is the earliest time given) could you still make it to EE for 9am?

If you're already in Ak and having breakfast at Donalds Breakfastasaurus at 8:10, then theres no reason you could not get to EE for 9am. they will keep you in Dinoland till 9am ropedrop but you will already be in the park so you will be one of the first there. I have read reports where people have done exactly this and been near the very front of the pack to EE. In fact I am doing this in August and plan to do it in October too.

send me back to kindergarten. I misread the original question. I was thinking breakfast at the AKL, rather than at Donalds.
But you're right. She wrote AK and so she must have meant at Donalds in Dinoland, which is actually the short cut to getting to EE (everyone goes the long way instead of going through dinoland).

So you'll probably have a head start. There shouldn't be any problem at all with you being at the front of the pack at rope drop. I assume that the people who finish breakfast before 9 am are held back somehow (maybe there's another rope somewhere before EE), but you certainly should be able to be in the very first group of riders.

Thanks for the replies, now i will try and get an ADR for that time - this is a last minute idea (anybody else have daft and impossible last minute ideas?!).....i will let you all know how i get on!! Thanks for all the information.

if you do this, please let us know how it works...
the only problem is the possible delay in seating..
we ate at the donalds breakfast several years ago (when it first opened). We also took an opening time. But they give out that time to many people and so even though our time was the earliest, i recall having to wait a while before we were seated. So that could possibly mess up your timing. But as i said, you're already part of the way towards EE, so that should make up for that.

It's a gamble i suppose, but it could well work. I would try to pay your bill even while you're still eating so that you're not slowed down by the crush to pay bills all at one time (as the opening hours approaches).

Also, make sure you're not reserving a time on EMH morning (when the park opens an hour early). Check the park opening time for the day you reserve.

also, even though your time is 8:10, be at the park earlier than that. I'd get to the turnstiles at about 7:50. I think it's the turnstiles on the far right where they take in the breakfast people. They'll either let you in right away or at 8:00. It will take you several minutes to walk back to donalds (it's a bit of a hike through the opening area and then into dinoland).

by the way, i just noticed in someone else's post that they have a donald's reservation for 8 AM, so it would seem that 8:10 isn't the earliest time (perhaps it's the earliest time available for the day you had in mind?).
If that's the case you should be there even earlier, since they seat people based on both reservation time and arrival time (also some people don't show up for their reservations). So if 8 am is the earliest time and you were only able to get 8:10 reserved, I would still get to the park as if i had an 8 am reservation.

Phoned yesterday - no chance of ADR at that time. Got a lovely CM and he suggested phoning for the next couple of weeks, once a week, to see if there have been any cancellations. He did offer me 8.20 - but all seated on different tables!!! I will keep you informed on my latest last minute idea!!!

probably lots of people with the same idea - to get to EE ahead of the pack...

I'd never thought of this before, but its a really good idea. We arrived at AKL nice and early and still had a mega-queue , both through security and the turnstile. Didn't encounter this with any other park. By the time we got through, fastpasses for EE were being dished out for 1.30!

So even though I 've read mixed reviews about the Donald breakfast it may well be worth considering, just to get a headstart on those crowds!

when did you arrive at Animal Kingdom? In the summer (i don't know if they always do this) they begin letting people into the park before 9 AM. At about 8:50 or so. they let them walk all the way to where you see the tree of life, where there is a rope up to hold you for the opening ceremony. then after the opening ceremony, they drop the rope, but they don't let you run. You're led by CMs in whichever direction you travel.

If you cut through RFC, you can get ahead of the crowds - although you still get held at the rope drop you are ahead of the rest of the mass.

I was there at 8.45 in March and it was already like a zoo. Bear in mind this was during the soft opening for Everest, so everyone wanted a peek.

We were there on Wednesday last week at 7:50 am and had to queue for 20 mins for EE in the Standby queue. It was absolutely packed full of people around the ride area. We hadn't realised it was EMH (as we were staying off-site) - but due to the crowds at the gates, the CMs weren't checking closely whether you were an on-site guest or not - and somehow we ended up being let in. We rode it 3 times, using Standby, as the Fastpass times were too late in the day.

We hadn't intended going to AK that day (our last full day of the holiday) and had planned to be at Epcot all day instead. However, EE had been closed on our planned day at AK (6th April) as it was being prepared for the official opening on 7th April.

we had an early morning reservation at CP for 8.10....however on the way over the monorail broke down at the GF

we were advised to get off and take the water launch over which we did ...only to find we'd missed it...so it was back to the monorail...eventually got to CP at 09 05 ,but we explained and we got our breakfast anyway....just a little diasappointing cos we were looking forward to entering MK when it was less crowded
