I am currently listening to this week's podcast and laughing hysterically at the antics of Oliver in the UK pavilion. This resembles the Impractical Jokers show and it is awesome. I hope this becomes a regular thing if not a weekly thing. Very fun!

Bravo for Oliver! He was very brave to push ahead. Takes some self-assurance to put yourself out there. There aren't that many 20-somethings who have that. Kudos to Ollie :thumbsup2

I'm sure CM's get asked even more ridiculous stuff by people being serious every day. I loved how the gang was trying to set Oliver up but it didn't work.

Haven't finished watching, but can't wait. If it can make Llama laugh, I better be ready! :)

And this is why it was my least favorite part of the podcast. I grew out of prank calls around eighth grade! Should the podcast decide to devolve into this, they will definitely lose my listenership (not that one listener matters in the grand scheme of things).

EDIT: I worked retail long enough that people purposefully acting stupid to retail employees is not funny.

I actually know Q from that show. We played words with friends against each other for years. :)

We have done 10 years of shows and we have done this a total of once and you are ready to stop listening??????

Wow.

You GO, Kevin!! Jealousy is an ugly trait in a person :tilt:

As for "The Brit"---that piece was hilarious. It lasted a few minutes. I'm certain listeners can endure a few minutes of the crew getting a laugh. If a few need to take their bucket and leave the beach, probably for the best. Cuz Disney is serious business God Damnit.

Aaah, the woes of retail. I have a good many years of experience with that too and it can certainly turn a person into a fun sucker. I hope you escape that and can remember your inner 12 year old once in a while. It makes life a bit better, in my opinion.

Oh, c'mon folks. It was a fun segment that took 5 minutes of time. It's not like the entire show is devolving into a Bloopers and Practical Jokes ripoff.

Besides, Oliver was holding up his camera/phone/whatever filming the thing the whole time. Surely the cast member had to know that he was joking around and was just going along with the gag.

Don't know the server personally but as she'd be from the UK I think she'd be okay with a little light Banter, as it no way offensive just a bit of fun.

Although I do hope Oliver went back and told her what show she was on, as it might be nice for her to tell her friends and family back home and then they can catch up with it online :)

Strangely, you quoted the message, but it seems like you didn't read it.

So, as you can see, no, I am not ready to stop listening after one time. If it became a regular segment, yes, I would stop listening.

I am probably having a stronger reaction because I recently came back to the podcast after a long absence; I tend to listen to Disney podcasts off and on--they make me too "homesick" when I'm not able to visit. These practical joke/crank call type things are like nails on a chalkboard reaction to me (which, ironically, nails on a chalkboard don't bother me).

Nope I read it. Every word. And I was surprised by it then and I'm still surprised now.

All I can say is that it may very well happen again and again as it was very well received and we found it harmless and hilarious.

Apparently, lots of people appreciate "eighth grade " humor. I'm sorry you see it as an "either or situation".

As a regular listener, if this is what makes you stop listening...well...all I can say is "bye".

I think this bit worked because it was on the spot, not contrived and the exchange with the CM was light and not demeaning or humiliating. As I said up thread, I'm sure CM's get asked all kinds of crazy things much worse than this. Keep it light and playful and it could be a fun segment on future podcasts.
