My daughter has worked at a Bravo restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, for a number of years (recently quit because she found fulltime employment -- not that that matters). We don't eat out a lot, but we've eaten at Bravo on several occasions. For a medium-priced Italian restaurant, I think their food is exceptional.
The family that owns Bravo is from Columbus. My husband was friends with and went to school with the children (many years ago, I might add). The mother started the family into the restaurant business with the opening of Lindey's in the German Village suburb of Columbus. The children followed in her footsteps with Bravo (Italian), Brio (Tuscan) and Bon Vie' (French). I had heard that they were expanding the business into other parts of the country. I've eaten at all of these restaurants and find the food at all of them exceptional, for the price.
I wouldn't characterize Bravo as being similar to Buca.
I know that's more information than you wanted, but I thought I'd share a little history while I was at it. It's not often that I have this kind of knowledge to share on these boards. Ha!
