Braving the June heat with our 2 kids! First trip for the kids!

Well I have re-planned our HS day about 5 times now. First the Frozen Singalong wasn't going to be open while we're there, so I planned without it, and now it will! Happy about that but HS is really hard to plan with all the show times. Here's what we have for now:

8:55-9:10 Rope drop - TSMM
9:10-9:25 TSMM with FP+
9:40 Disney Jr show - me & kids
9:30 DH lineup for Big Hero 6
10:15-10:40 Big Hero M&G
10:40-11:05 Star Tours FP+
11:30 Frozen Singalong
12-12:30 Star Tours again with rider swap
12:30 H&V Lunch

Then after the SWW details came out, DH decided he does want to do one thing - the Visit to the Maul with Ray Park. Well with that being a Tier 1, I had to rethink a few days. We had only planned on a Thursday morning at HS to avoid the SWW crowds. So on our AK day, that afternoon DH will go to HS (Saturday) for that FP. Because we only have 6 day tickets from Undercover Tourist, I had skipped FP for our AK day in hopes that after we get there and add a day, I can book our AK FP+ without too many problems. I had to cancel DH from our FP+ for our last MK day so that I could book his Visit to the Maul FP in HS that day. Sheesh what a process.

This trip is so hard to plan due to the amount of planning Disney requires, and the complete unknown of how our children's stamina will be. I expect that after the first 1-2 days, when I have an idea of how the kids are doing, I'll replan a lot of the other days.

Anybody still reading?

I am so excited to read this!!! You and I are in the exact same boat! I'm so glad to see other people planning as much as I am! I've been semi secretly obsessively planning our June trip becausey husband thinks I'm crazy ;). I keep telling him we can go with the flow but I am going to be insanely prepared for everything and know what our options are :). I will have to write out our trip plans tomorrow!

Finally got a chance to read through your updated plans! We are going to be there at the exact same time :). Just a heads up - I don't think Turtle Talk starts until 9:40? At least that's what it says on the Disney sight. I know we had planned to do it first thing after test track or soarin, but I don't think it's open right away :/.

Also - we've been trying to change our Chef Mickey's dinner day for WEEKS and the only things that have popped up have been at ridiculous times, like 9 or 10pm. I eventually found even hard reservations like 8:05 CRT and decent times for Anna/Elsa fast passes - but Chef Mickey's is stubborn! lol. Just as a heads up if you want to try for a breakfast :).

Thanks for those tips! Maybe we'll do Spaceship Earth first thing at Epcot - I wonder if we can fit it in. We have enough other character meals planned that I think we'll save Chef Mickey's for the next trip.

I definitely want to get FOF in at some point - I think the kids would love it. If only it weren't in the hottest part of the day! Any ideas on where we should fit it in, and where to watch it from? I skipped the FP for it based on how hot that area would be.

SO very excited...

Welcome welcome! I love trip planning, and Disney certainly requires planning... egads! While we do have lots of plans, I'm also prepared to change anything at any time based on how the kids are holding up. First and foremost I want a vacation!

Following along! Can't wait to hear about your final plans as the day quickly approaches!!

Ok, first Pre-trip report I've read. Very awesome to see fellow crazy planners!

In 2018, I'm planning our first trip with our daughter, so I'm reading up now. I can plan for 100-200 high school students or my family in my sleep, but clueless about little kids.

Father-in-law (a fellow disney fanatic, and coming in the 2018 trip) suggests saving magic kingdom after you're finished the other parks, as kids will not like other parks as much as MK and can get bored. Thoughts?

Start and end with MK-needs 2 days to do anyway. And it depends on ages of the kids-mine loved Animal Kingdom with all the trails, Wilderness explorer stops, shows etc. I think it is easy to forget these parks are much more than thrill ride parks and forget there is lot of stuff to do when you slow down. Mine are older but they really surprised me with how much they loved exploring the countries in World Showcase, or even playing with the interactive games in Innovations and Test Track.

SO very excited...

Watch in FrontierLand-more shady areas to retreat to if too hot and the shops are steps away. We were at a FP+ kiosk getting more FP (think it was the archway between frontier land and adventureland) when the parade started. Turns out it is a great spot to see the parade.

13 DAYS!!!!!!! I am so excited, I can hardly stand it, and DH is not - too busy finishing up the school year. And we haven't told the kids so I have no one to be excited with! Starting to second guess every single one of my plans, which I think is normal for this stage... the "problem" is that the kids (especially DS) are completely Star Wars obsessed now - just started about a month ago. Had I known that when I was planning our park days, I would have planned more time in HS on a SWW day - I was trying to avoid it for crowds. Oh well. We have decided to skip Jedi Training Academy for DD just since we are doing so many other special things. Plus DS would be heartbroken if he saw her doing it and couldn't.

I think everyone's different of course but we are starting and ending with MK :) I am a little concerned that the other parks won't be as exciting but from the TR's I've read, I am doubting more that it will be a problem! Every park has excitement to offer.

Thank you! That's where I'm going to head for the afternoon parade I think. Apparently around Pecos Bill is a good plan.

12 days (if i am counting right!)party: Almost single digits!

Use the SWW as an excuse to go again next year or the year after :woohoo:

AAAAHHHHHHHH we leave on Monday and I CANNOT WAIT. We've told the kids we're going on a trip but not where... will tell them when we wake them up at 4:30 am Monday to leave for the airport :) CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Did I say that already??? There is no more research or planning to be done so I'm driving myself a little nuts... Time to start packing!
