Hi Everyone!

I have been obsessing over these boards and reading everyone's journals about their lovely weddings... so I decided to start mine.

First of all I just want to say how much I appreciate everyones' posts!! It gives me comfort to know that so many of you are here for support.

Well, here's our story...

Background:

Zach and I (Brandi) have been engaged since Feb 13, 2011 after six years together. We met when we both worked at a call center together. We were both working through college and we had more fun at that crazy call center than any other job. We were friends before we started dating and I have to say I was the one that chased him once the Love Bug bit me.

Now six years later, we moved from our hometown and families to the big city, San Antonio. Although we are homesick after three years of San Antonio, we are getting used to being the two away from the homefront on our own. We recently bought our first home and I thought Zach would never ask me to marry him. But he surprised me...

Zach is not the emotional type, he is very macho and doesn't believe in showing emotion (which can drive me crazy!! but I'm used to it). We went out to eat for an early Valentines day at the Riverwalk and I was just saying how pretty the area was for a wedding...when Zach pulled out a ring and so shyly asked the question. I was so happy but couldn't help to laugh at poor Zach who had to show me how he felt for once.

We both come from big Mexican families and we are trying to get this all planned so everyone has a great time in August in DisneyWorld. So far, I've been in contact with the planner, Bill from Disney and I'm waiting on the Letter of Agreement, we have 2 RVs reserved ('cause we are driving from Texas!!), and I'm trying to decide on colors, dress type and everything!!!

Hi Brandi!

Just joining in... it took my DF 7 years to finally pop the question... for a while I thought it would never happen since he always told me he didn't believe in marriage.. BUT here I am on the boards as well! He proposed on New Years eve, I wish I could have gotten married a lot earlier, but we are paying for everything ourselves and have to wait until next year..

What do you think about Bill? I just finished reading another PJ with a horror story (not to scare you) but I was a little freaked out myself and am trying to get second opinions that will hopefully put me at ease!

Anyways, enough about me... can't wait to read more!

Hi everyone!

I'm back!! I had to break from wedding obsession thanks to my anxiety attacks (that I hate!, ugh!). I'm actually managing my anxiety a lot better (and it wasn't all from the wedding planning, LOL).

Well a lot has happened since my first post. Bill turned out not to be my WP, I'm actually working with Carol. She is a sweet, sweet lady and I have all the planning done.

I was originally slated to have my wedding at Canada Terrace until a couple of days ago. My WP called me and let me know the terrace was damaged and scaffolding and construction would be all over the place in Canada. So, I am now getting married in the Wedding Pavilion.

I'm trying to earn some status on the boards so I can post some pics of my dress and shoes. I look forward to sharing my story.

So here's some more information about my wedding! There is a picture of me and Zach, my dress, colors, and the ring.

I don't have a bridal party which I'm happy with but I kinda feel I'm missing that whole wedding motif...

The dress was exciting and easy to buy, I got it at David's Bridal.

Hey Everyone!

I just realized it's one month away until I am off work for 10 days for my wedding and honeymoon!! Woo hoo!!

So, here's a schedule of my upcoming wedding plans...

July 16 - Engagement Dinner with my Family
July 30 - Bachelorette Party at Dick's Last Resort on the Riverwalk
August 10 - Last Day of Work Before Vacation
August 12 - Families arrive from Lubbock in San Antonio
August 13 - Leaving on 2 RVs to Florida!
August 14 - Arrive in Orlando

Things I have left to do...
-Make sure my shoes are not too high for my dress. I went bold and bought some Royal Blue platform pumps. I'm going to take a backup of more traditional shoes in case my mother doesn't approve, LOL.

-Find a matching royal blue tie and pocket square for my groom.
-Buy supplies for the RV trip.
-Find a pet resort for my pup.
-Buy the groom's ring (I know it's getting down to the wire)
-Buy an aisle runner - still wondering if I should paint it with a mongram.

Next, I will post my BEO and invites.

Well my invitations, I had grand plans for them that kind of fell through because A) I'm not crafty, although I try to be and 2) the money, honey!

I started by crafting my own pocket folds which was fun but tedious. They kept coming out too homey for what I was going for. So after about a month of frustrations, I searched all kinds of invites on the web. I decided to go with Impressions.

Impressions was good to work with but way expensive!!! I had to cut out a lot of details, inner envelopes, and thank you notes because the price for just 50 was outrageous.

I'm okay with how they turned out but they weren't what I was actually dreaming of. I would say if you are not going totally custom and have a modest budget for invites then, don't go with Impressions. (Just my opinion)

we received our marriage license in the mail today! Zach and I used the mail away process with Brevard County in Florida. so easy to do - I recommend it.
