Hello all!

DH and I stayed at the Loew's hotel at Universal Orlando for a toy show a couple of years ago (dh is in the toy industry! :)) and we LOVED the hotel!

We are returning for vacation, and we want to add on some days to our WDW trip and stay at the Royal Pacific again. Can anyone tell me the best way to get a great deal?

I attempted to read through the stickies at the top of the area, but all the "lingo" confused me. :scared:

Can you help? :)

Thanks a lot!:flower3:

There are 3 main ways to get a discounted rate for the Royal Pacific Resort(RPR).

1. Super Saver rate. This rate is dependant upon when you go and your length of stay. The longer you stay, the better the rate.

2. AAA rate. You must be a member of AAA. Although you don't need proof when you book, you will probably have to show your card when checking in.

3. APH rate. This rate is for people who have either a Preferred Annual Pass or Premiere Annual Pass. As with the AAA rate, you don't need proof when you book, but will probably have to show it when checking in.

These rates are limited availability and can sell out at anytime. The can also become available if a reservation, booked at a discounted rate, is cancelled.
There are also several package deals available, but in most cases, it'll be cheaper to book everything seperately.

Also be sure to check the rates at the other 2 Universal hotels: The Portofino Bay Hotel (PBH) and The Hard Rock Hotel (HRH). Although the RPR is usually the lower rate, it's not impossible that one of the other 2 hotels will have a lowest rate. This usually occurs when the RPR's lowest rates are sold out and therefore not available.

You can book online at either Loewshotels.com or UniversalOrlando.com. You can also book with the 1-888 number which most of us do.

Wow!! Thanks so much!! :) Does anyone know if any discount travel sites offer awesome deals at RP?

Funny you should ask. My wife and I were looking at hotels.com for HRH pictures and their listed prices were higher than the Super Saver rate I mentioned above. Super Saver will probably be your best bet if its available and you plan to stay for 3 nights or more.

tell us what are the dates you have in mind for staying at rph.

if i know the dates, i'll know the rate season then

As others have indicated, you will typically not get a better deal than Supersaver, APH or AAA rates at any site online. As this is your first trip with children, have you considered the PBH or HRH as you may find the extra space to be well worth the extra cost.

macraven - according to her avatar, the op is going in September so great deals should be available.

Thanks. I didn't know that. This past May, it was a minimum 3 night.

Mac,

you sure? UniversalStudios website still indicates a minimun of 3 nights. Only 2 nights from November 15 to December 25.

you know i just went to the link and you are correct. sorry apologies offered.

when i went to the site 3 weeks ago, it was still on 4 nights for ss

i did get a newsletter on monday and i checked there also. the nights for the SS have dropped down.

good rates!
if i didn't have such a sweet deal for my room, i would switch to SS.

i did last year and came out way ahead $$ wise.

went back and read the site again and see it is a package deal with tickets.
ok, there are 2 SS promos going on now.
the one without the tickets is at 4 days
the one with tickets are for less days.

i have the ap so i only book for the straight, room only supersaver deal of 4 nights.

i didn't notice that until you told me. thanks.

september is low season and has the cheapest rates for the onsite hotels.

the op can find a good deal for september.

Wow, you guys know your stuff. I love it! :)

I would love to find a pkg that includes passes to UO and IOA! Did someone say that's included??

And, are the other hotels bigger than RP?? Thanks for answer, guys. I would be so lost without the help!

I have never seen a package that was a good deal. You can do better buying your tics and hotel separately at a promotional rate.

I've priced out the Stay 4 and get 2 free tics and didn't find it worthwhile at all.

Packages are seldom a good deal and when purchasing a package, you will be ineligible for Loew's (Your) First benefits. I wish I could tell you what those benefits will be but the program is changing in 2 weeks.

for standard rooms, pbh has the most sq footage, next would be hrh and then rph

you have to break down the package to see if it is a deal for you.
usually they are not. i have used a package before as it did come out lower.

do the math.
do the room rate. if it has a discount, use that price.
add in the cheapest or promo ticket package available at the time.

add them together.

which deal is cheaper?
the package one or the one you paid separate for all items.

that is a good way to determine if a package deal is good for you.

sometimes a package deal comes up for room and breakfast.
buffet for breakfast at the hotels are $16.99 + tax pp
do the figures for that to see how it comes out financially.

if you have the ap or aaa, you can get a 10% discount on the meal
looking at it that way, if you use discount cards for rooms and food, you usually come out ahead booking separately.

I've priced Supersaver, package rate and AAA and Rate with Breakfast!!! AAA is the biggest discount!!!

Also, just purchased 7 day unlimited IOA and Univ ticket through my local NJ AAA office for $82.00 per person, including ALL TAXES!! NO SERVICE FEE!!!

Beats the current 7 day promo rate on Univ site...That is $89.99...tax and service fee brings you up to I believe around $97 per person.

AAA can't be beat...Universal package rates are horrible in my opinion...Definately worth it to purchase hotel separately and tickets separately...Add on 12.5 percent/night to hotel rate quoted by agent for tax.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
