Hey everybody. I've been following this site for about a week now and really enjoy the information and discussion you can find here. My name is Sam, I'm 28 and am from Huntington, WV. My wife, Mindy, is 25. I work in the psych field and am also working on my masters in clinical psych. My wife is getting close to finishing her first year of med school.

So, to the point - I've been to Disney World twice and loved it both times - few days after Christmas in 2000 and the same in 2001. I really loved the experience even though I didn't even break the surface of what the park has to offer.

Just a little over a week ago it hit me... My wife is getting ready to finish her first year of med school and I wanna do something special for her birthday (late June) or our 3rd wedding anniversary (early July)... combine them really. So it hit me.. Disney World. I wasn't THAT serious at first but then started seeing how I could arrange it in a way that I can afford. So now, selling some things on eBay, saving back extra money at payday, and making all the plans. Very excited and can't wait to tell her when it's all official.

I don't intend on planning out our days or anything... just doing 4 nights at All Star Movies and park hopper tickets. The rest should be kind of on the fly I think... spontaneous. :love:With that said, I'd like to splurge on one really nice dinner reservation to be romantic. Do any of you have advice on a good place to go. She loves all the Disney princesses, especially Aurora. I don't want to go to a place that is pompous or excudes too much arrogance.

Really enjoy this site and look forward to participating!

If she likes Aurora she can be found in Norway most of the time for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner. For a great meal Tutto Italia and Via Napoli have wonderful food in EPCOT. Romantic dinning is fantastic in France. In the Animal Kingdom, while not romantic the Yak and Yetti has killer food. Enjoy your trip

Ive never personally been to Teppan Edo but I've heard really great things about it. The California Grill is also excellent and I can vouch for that personally. If you make reservations later in the evening, you can either view the fireworks from a window table, if you get lucky and are seated there, or you can walk out onto an observation deck and view the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from there. I think it's awesome what you're doing for your wife. Have a great time!

Teppan Edo is AMAZING!! I went there 3x in a single trip one time, it's that good. Tokyo Dining is also really nice if you get a reservation for around 8pm and ask for a table by the window. Order some cocktails and you can watch Illuminations from your table.

Thanks for the responses about Teppan Edo. I will definitely try to get her there. The California Grill seems cool too. What is the procedure for getting in since it is in the Contemporary Resort?

And thanks everybody for the welcome!

The California Grill is very nice, but very pricey. You need to call well in advance to get a reservation. I think tey let you call up to 6 months ahead of time. I would suggest calling as soon as you know the night you want to eat there.
