Brand New Security Measure -- No Liquids/gels In Carry-on Luggage

I think you can take the suntan sticks cant you? Put a good amount of water proof suntan lotion on before you leave (lasts up to 8 hour kind, probably more if you dont get wet) then use the stick when you get there?

just a thought...yeah i thought of the sunblock thing right off too..were all very fair.

I like your suggestion. Since my plane arrives at about 1, I am not concerned with toothpaste or anything since I should have my bag way before, I need it. However, I was planning on packing my suntan lotion in my carry-on so that I could use it when I got there. Excellent idea to put on the suntan lotion before leaving on the plane. Thanks!

Flights are DELAYED in the US up to 5 HOURS!!!! :sad2: I travel on Sat. and hope this is lifted somewhat by than, or I will be checking my luggage! :sad2: :guilty:

Wow! No lip balm???

I don't leave until Sept. 28 - is this a temporary restriction? Please, no toothpaste in my carry-on?

ouch... now I'll have to make a liquor store run when I get there in 17 days if I can't pack my rum in my carryon. Oh well, safety first......

Hey TravelinTigger..... Wanna take me to the liquor store on Sunday?!

I never check a bag. It was ground into me by my grandparents who travled all over the world for months at a time that you can pack everything you need into carry on. This means that now I'm going to have to check a bag if I want to ever brush my teeth or wash my hair while on vacation. How stupid is that?

Either that, or you can cough up to purchase shampoo and toothpaste in the airport or at your resort when you get there.

It also appears that electronic devices are being banned from carryon luggage only on flights originating from the UK. The UK has gone so far as to ban carryon luggage itself. Passengers there are permitted a clear plastic bag containing tickets, wallets, and personal items like eyeglasses if needed. Nothing else.

Don't know as yet, might be in effect for "awhile" is what I have heard on the news. :confused3 I don't think they are going to allow Disposable Cameras either, as this was going to be used as a trigger for the explosives.

make sure you buy it after you get off the plane.... they said they'll confiscate any liquids that you buy in the airport even after you go through security.....
There goes my Dunkin'Donuts tea for the ride

just put together a small package and send it to your resort. It will be waiting for you when you get there. Since we will be travelling with a baby, I planned on sending a package with diapers and wipes, along with some snacks anyway. As I have been watching and listening all day today, I figured now I will be sending ahead some toiletries, too (sunblock, toothpaste and deodorant, at least).

You could use a shoe box and put together a very small "care package." The shipping fee would be minimal. Of course, this alternative is for those of you really worried about DME being delayed with luggage.

so what about anyone like me who gets their prescription drugs from their doctor for free. they are expensive and my doctor gives me samples from her office. does this new restriction that my name be on the medicine mean that i cannot take my heart medication? what if my checked lugguage gets lost?

You have to take your chances and check the luggage or mail a 7 day supply of your medicines(I guess..although I don't know for sure-so you might want to check postal requlations). For a back up I would ask the doctor for a script incase your medicines do get lost.

Other option is to drive...If I lived closer I would be considering it  Some of you should really think about it- 2-3 hour preboarding wait and an hour pick up wait for luggage + travel time...If I lived 6-10 hours away I would be driving.

I guess I should pick out a minivan or an SUV so there's plenty of room for you to stock up at the liquor store, huh??? :lmao:

OR I could have it chillin' for you when you arrive - of course, that will cost extra.... :rolleyes1
