Hey everybody,

I've got great news, and it's for real this time. I've just found out, if they found a suitable film maker to direct, she may bring back hand drawn animation to Disney. Here's the source of it with an interview with Jennifer Lee:Walt Disney Animation Isn't Opposed to Hand-Drawn Features, Jennifer Lee Talks About Making Changes After John Lasseter's Exit [Interview] WHEE!:jumping1: I knew Jennifer Lee has the love of hand drawn animation. I've just hope they find someone to direct a future hand drawn animated feature. Of course, new art styles technology they mention in this interview is welcomed too. For those of you are going to be like doubting Thomases not going to believe it, I don't give a hoot. It's a brand new hope for me. Happiness!

Raya and the Last Dragon will be their 59th movie so I have a feeling that they won't miss the chance to produce a hand drawn film to be their 60th. It would be really great! Let's cross the fingers!

So it's just an interview that doesn't shut the door? I mean, we know Disney is open to any feature film with the potential to turn huge profits. If one could convince them a silent claymation movie would make $1 billion, they'd do it.

But when pitching a story, it seems difficult to argue that a more expensive hand drawn story "adds" more than a cheaper CGI movie. The most important factor is the story itself and I don't understand how hand drawn "pushes the story" any better than CGI. When Disney says "We love the story, but we don't love how expensive it will be to produce, would you do CGI?" how does one say no? The argument can't just be nostalgia + artistic preference.

Anyway, a huge benefit of Disney+ will be giving opportunities to artists (storytellers, animators, etc) to experiment and see what sticks. If there's an animation style or story loved, make sure to push up the view count.
