Just booked a king room (only thing available with discount) for a 20th anniversary long weekend trip.

Are these rooms in any particular location?

Thanks

Hey CSR'ers! :yay:

Well, I just got some bad news, my brother has hit upon some hard economic times (like alot of us)
and we offered to him a loan. (which is usually a gift!)
So, it looks like the BC is out for us this Sept.

Ya know, family comes first.

But, I have been lurking here for the past month, looking around at this thread and at the photo thread.
All I can say, is WOW! What a moderate resort! Looks like the deluxe of the mods, for sure!

I'm going to show DH the photos and see what he thinks, as he was wanting POFQ.
Can you give me some extra things to tell him before he gets home?
We are celebrating our 15th anniversary (both second marriages)and my recovery from breast cancer, so this is a special trip!

Also, are the king bed rooms renovated?

TIA!!!:)

Sorry about your brother--we know the feeling; we had to cancel our trip to CSR this year. We are ALL hoping for better times.

Congratulations on your anniversary and your 15th anniversary and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, your recovery from breast cancer. I too am a breast cancer survivor. I celebrated my 50th birthday and my recovery from breast cancer at the CSR in September 2007 and we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the CSR this past September (2008).

This is our favorite resort, even more so than the Poly where we stayed numerous times. There is a fitness center/spa, the largest hot tub of all the mods, three quiet pools, a new nightime lounge (no kids after 9 p.m.!) and it is simply a beautiful resort in our opinion.

As for the king beds, yes, some of those rooms have been renovated. I am guessing...and it is only a guess from the last time we heard from JamesLynn, that about 30 of the rooms are still to receive new king beds. The renovation is expected to be completed by October 2009 and there are king rooms in all sections of the CSR (Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas) and king rooms have been completed in all three of those sections.

Any other questions...ask away. Someone here on the CSR thread will be happy to help.

Oh, Kathy! Thank you!

And, to you on your recovery, too!
We know what each other went through!

Yes, I've been eying the casitas for the proximity to the spa and quiet pool.
Do you think the king bed rooms would be renovated there by Sept 16th?

btw, what is your favorite building to request?:)

Casitas 4 and 5 are our favorite buildings--very close to the fitness center/spa and quiet pool. Those buildings are completely done so the king rooms in those buildings are done! :thumbsup2

Alrightie then!:thumbsup2

DH should be home for lunch in 5 min!
I'll give him the update and call WDW and be back soon!:)

Thank you!!!!

So this nighttime lounge?? Is it the Rix? Or is it something else?

...I need to get all my facts straight. My brother will make fun of me otherwise "And you call yourself a fanatic." (I can hear it now!)

Edit: It looks like there are 3 different bars at CSR. Coming back from the park, which one would you head to for a drink?

1. Siesta's at the pool (but it closes early--like 7?)
2. Laguna Bar (this is outside by the lake)
3. The Rix Lounge (new lounge inside across from the Pepper Market). Here's a link to the lounge: http://rix-lounge.com/

Weather nice -- we go to Laguna; if it is too hot or rainy we go to Rix

Well,it's official! We are now CSR'ers! :thumbsup2

Tell me, how is the Maya Grill compared to Boma's?

I'm in the process of rebooking some of our ADRs!
We fly in late afternoon and will be hungry, also using ME.
So we will use the buses and cabs to get around.

Thought it would be nice to eat at the resort the first night. :)

I've never eaten at Maya Grill except for breakfast. It is a buffet at breakfast, but not dinner. I've read great reviews and then I've read bad reviews of the place. You might want to stick with Boma's if it is something you know and like. It's not more than a 12-minute or so cab ride to AKL from the CSR.

We've not used the buses (we rent a car), but I understand they are never crowded (excpet maybe coming back from MK in the evening)...it helps that it is a convention resort and those convention folks are in meetings all day.
If you get Casitas 4 or 5, you will be close to Bus Stop 2 which is the FIRST bus stop picked up on the way around the resort and the FIRST stop when dropped off from the parks.

Congratulations! I hope you love the CSR! A few weeks ago we went to Disney for the first time and stayed at CSR. We loved the resort and wish we had spent more time there relaxing & enjoying the pool(s).

The resort did not have the chaotic hustle/bustle feel which was wonderful after spending a day at the park. It was relaxed, quiet, beautiful. Our room was a corner unit located in Cabanas 8B. Loved the room and its location!

Good luck rebooking the ADRs. We're far from Disney experts but some of our favorite meals were at Tutto Italia, Kona, Teppan Edo and California Grill. The first night were arrived late afternoon so we drove to Downtown Disney and used a counter service credit at Wolfgang Puck Express. It was very good with excellent service!

Have a great trip!!

I'll be headed down for my first stay at the CSR in 19 days. :woohoo:

How soon should I fax a room location request???

This is also our first stay on Disney property.

I always fax mine three days before arrival at the CSR.

All rooms are non-smoking at all Disney Resorts. There are desiganted spots in each of the resorts and the parks for smokers.

Great :thumbsup2

3 of the 4 of us have asthma...and smoke smell really bothers us.
