Thanks! I think it is the perfect place for a birthday. I can imagine what you mean about feeling 21. Should be great. I'll be sure and report. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much. I can't wait to get back to CSR. We've stayed at several resorts since our 2004 CSR visit and every time I wish we'd just gone back to our favorite!!!

Also, I noticed your adorable puppies Where do they stay while you're out of town?? We will be leaving Pixie for the first time next week, she's 9 months old. She's going to Grandma and Grandpa's house and she loves them. I will still worry, but am thankful we don't have to kennel her.

Thank you for the sweet words about my puppies -who are 14 & 16 years young in that photo!

I live with my DD and Dsil and we never travel at the same time, so one of us is always home with the pups. Years ago, we would trade off with friends who also had a sweet doglet or my adult Godson would come over and stay with them. We have never used a kennel and would stay home before doing so.

How sweet & perfect your little Pixie will be staying with grandma and grandpa :) - just be sure they understand she might have some accidents since things will be different for her, so they will be understand and not be upset with her. Depending on the sleeping arrangements she may cry for the first few ngts as well - but hope she will sleep near or with them. :thumbsup2 She's just a baby.

Have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

If she does have an accident, they will be fine. They have had dogs since 1967 until 2 years ago when they lost their last one. It was too hard for them to get another one. Pixie will sleep in her crate next to their bed like she does at home. I hope she'll be OK...:rolleyes1

I get to do online check in tomorrow. I am super excited. I am already packed and looking forward to my second stay at CSR.:cheer2:

Thank you JamesLynn and KatMark for answering our questions so quickly and effeciently. I, for one, truly appreciate the time you spend here on the Dis, reading and responding to our posts.

JamesLynn, please tell Roger that we here on the Dis appreciate his work and management style at CSR.

I have a question that you might be able to answer, I will be arriving later this month (Woo Hoo!) on June 26th. I have a one-night room only stay and then will be continuing to stay with the Buy 4 Get 3 Package. I am hoping that we will be allowed to stay in the same room for both reservations. I know it is not guaranteed but hope we will be able to do this.

I was also wondering what my chances would be to get just our park tickets on our arrival date instead of having to wait for the second reservation to start the next day. Do either of you have any idea if this would be possible and what my chances are of getting them early?

You can pick up your tickets early at any Guest Relations at the parks or DTD. :thumbsup2

Aw, she's gonna do great!!! What's better than spending time with grandma and grandpa??:thumbsup2

You know, I have seen your signature so many times and thought how absolutely darling that puppy is! She is sooo cute! Is she an Old English Sheepdog?

Your Pixie is darling!!! :goodvibes

Any idea as to how far in advance we could pick up our park tickets? We are arriving at CSR 7/1/09 for 8 days but getting down there 6/27 and staying at Dolphin for 2 days then Buena Vista Palace for 2 days. I got 10 day tickets with DDPQS with out CSR 4/3 package. Would we be ok to get the tickets 3 or 4 days before our package"starts" (I realize the dining wouldn't start until we check in to CSR). We just want the park tickets to use before we get to CSR.

Thanks!!! :cloud9: She is a Havanese, similar to a Maltese. She's full grown now at 10 lbs. and is as soft as silk.

Yup, your reservation would have downloaded into the Coronado system by then, so you'll have no problem getting the tickets. People do it more often than you would think. Your park ticket will just be seperate from your room key.

We just changed our free dining reservation from a FW cabin to two rooms at CSR, and now I'm thinking about what room to request...

I'm probably just going to go with "near the Dig Site", but I would really like to have rehabbed rooms. I know I read that Cabanas are finished, but how about Ranchos? What are the odds Ranchos will also be complete by late September?

Also, what effect do conventions have on room requests? Do conventions usually end up in Casitas for the proximity to the convention center? There's a forestry convention or some such the week we're going to be there, so I'm kind of hoping they'll be packing into the buildings I find least desirable and improving my odds of getting what I want! ;)

Boards newbie but previous lurker. I learned a lot from this board so thought I would share.
I was at CSR from May 24th to the 29th. I tend to think it is best to keep things simple and wanted a refurbished room so only requested the Cabanas. We ended up on the ground floor in Cabanas 8A facing half towards the lake (not a preferred room but almost a view). This actually worked out perfectly for us - we were 1 min from the bus stop and 1 minute from the pool - very handy when running through a downpour. It was very quiet and pleasant, I spent a while relaxing on one of the hammocks while waiting for laundry and it was wonderfully peaceful. The only convention appeared to be some "young leaders", college age kids who dressed normally and were pretty quiet, or not where I was anyway.
I think actually the most attractive section to me is the Ranchos -LOVE the southwestern theming and landscaping there. The whole resort is very beautiful though.
The Dig site is awesome, my kids LOVED the slide and enjoyed the kids activities there. I like the hot tub just a step away so I could have adult time while still being accessible.
Transportation was great. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and generally they weren't too full. Regardless, even when we had to stand, the trip was pretty short, no more than 5 minutes to the parks, so it was fine. Never used the car once.
We weren't on the dining plan so only ate at the resort once - the Pepper Market is just too expensive. I wasn't really a fan anyway although the food is better than typical Counter Service food that I saw at Disney. It seems redundant to have to tip a server who does little more than bring a drink -I appeared to do all the work shlepping the food around and payed for the privelege too!
Staff were all great, housekeeping was excellent and the room was spotless every day when we returned.

All in all we were very pleased and would happily recommend the CSR to anybody. When we eventually visit Disney again I really want a lot more room and a kitchen though - so while I will probably have to choose between the Wilderness Cabins or staying offsite, the Corronado was so great that it will actually be hard not to just return there.

Ranchos will be done by September. 7B is about half way done with it's refurb and 7A is up next.

Yes, we do try to place convention guests in the Casitas if we can. However, depending on the size of the group will depend on if they are all in casitas or sometimes even cabanas or if they are spread throughout.

We returned home Sunday evening from a wonderful 8 night stay at CSR...it is our new favorite resort. I was so excited when we checked in and were in Cabanas 9A. I knew then we were in a refurbished room. The room wasn't ready so we dropped our carry on luggage with Luggage Services and went to Pepper Market to eat first thing. We were on the dining plan and wow you all are right that is the best counter service food/value at Disney!! Both DH & I had the fajitas, our youngest DD had a hot dog and our oldest had a bacon cheeseburger. After lunch we went to the MK and came back to the resort after dinner at Chef Mickey's. We found out we were in room 9200...a corner room with 2 windows and a view of the quite pool!!! We had paid for a standard view so I was pleasantly surprised that we were upgraded! The room was so nice! We had previously only stayed at Value resorts so the fridge in the room was great. I had read that some didn't keep things cold enough. Many times our water was frozen so ours worked great. Another great thing was the slide in the pool...we all enjoyed it! The marina was listed as being closed but it was open during the trip. I even got to see Glen on Sunday morning before we left!! We can't wait to go back. Our original plan was to wait until Christmas of 2010 but maybe we can get back before then.

Thank you all for all of the help for my many questions before the trip!!

KatMark and JamesLynn,

You two are the best! :cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you for the information on picking up our park tickets early! This is great news! :yay::yay:Yippee!!!

Thanks for the update on the Casitas!
:woohoo:

I am so excited about my upcoming trip to CSR!
I have been posting on other threads all the great info I have learned about CSR to help convince others to try it out and I haven't even stayed there myself yet. But that is about to change. Only 23 more days until I will relaxing at Siestas or in one of the hammocks myself! I am so giddy with excitement!
