Yeah, that's what I thought when I paid for it!

It was during free dining in 07, so I think they may have needed to be a little more creative than usual.

Even though, they should of said upon check in that they were out of water view rooms but a pool view room was available and that they would of refunded the difference. you clearly didn't get what you paid for.

Wow, water view is supposed to mean the lake view, not just a pool view room w/ trees in the way.

No, a water view can be the lake, a pool, or a fountain. They consider all of those to be water view.

Now the obstructed view is another story. :rotfl2:

I agree completely! To be honest though, when I booked the room, water view was all that was left for the free dining package. When I got there, I knew I was getting such a good deal with the free dining (and the room was ready at 7 AM), that I didn't care about being ripped off with the water view. We really weren't in the room much, so it didn't bother us. I'd never pay full price for water-view though, after that.

Yeah my TA told me as well that waterview could be as little as a puddle! LOL As long as there was "water" in the "view", it was waterview! LOL Fortunately for us, we had an awesome waterview.

Unfortuantely, a few doors down, they had an "obstructed" waterview.

When we booked for our trip that we returned from 2 weeks ago, all that was left was waterview. We ended up getting a corner room in Cabanas 8b with a great "view". However, if given the choice I wouldn't pay extra for a waterview. Even though we could step out of our door and see a great view of the lake. You really don't see it from your room. And you may pay for waterview and not get such a great view as others have said. I think wherever your room is at CSR there is a great view only steps away. Now.....if the rooms had balconies that would be a different story;)

In 12 days I'll be at CSR :woohoo::woohoo:

I have taken a "long shot" and have simply requested Casitas. A renovated room would be nice, but I care more about location. I think the Casitas are the most beautiful section! Particularly Casitas 1 and 3. So if I get on the 4th floor in a new room, fantastic! If not, I'll still be at my favorite place in the world :goodvibes

For anyone who has been to WDW in the past week or so, has the rain they have been calling for been as bad as they are forecasting? It seems exceptionally rainy for May! Not that I'm too concerned, I'll just fling on a poncho and go :thumbsup2

 So sorry I am late in replying to this - was not on the thread, but KatMark pm'd me about your post.

If your mom has any special need(s), please call Special Resort Needs asap (have your reservation number ready for them): 407-939-7807 # 1 .

These CM's will block a room to be sure any needs your mom may have will be met. They are wonderful and there to help!

Even if she does not require a handicap room, they can help - just explain her needs to them.

Please do not hesitate to pm me if I can be of any help. :goodvibes

Wow, thanks. It is minor but a room on the lower level and a room closer to a bus would be a helpful for her. Thank you I'll do that! ;)

When I was there from the 5th-12th of May, it did not rain at all until I was on the bus back to the airport on the 12th. The night before, a security guard at Epcot told me they hadn't had rain in Orlando in 29 days. So it's been exceptionally dry there, actually. They really needed some rain.

Great! Even a minor issue can be taken care of. They are terrific!

Have a great trip! :)

Thank you so much for your advice! Thank you, I can't wait to go and I'm sure it will be more wonderful than I expect as always.:yay: It's my first time at CSR and I'm looking forward to it! I just want to make sure it's as accessible as the other resorts considering the size.

3 months from today we'll be checking into CSR!!!! Whoo Hoo!:cool1:

Sorry to hear. I feel your pain because we had to cancel our trip this year too. It really stinks!

Yes, I really hated to do it. But the good news, which I reported earlier on another thread, is we're still going to Florida. A lawyer I work with has offered us his two-bedroom/two bath condo at Marco Island for a week with no cost to us (we have enough miles for our flights, so we just have to rent a car and buy food--I'll cook most of our meals). It's not Disney, but at least it's a vacation. I'm sorry you had to cancel yours too. (:

I just sent our fax in and requested a room in the Casitas on an upper floor (renovated if possible). We have a king room reserved, so we'll see how that goes. I can't wait!

I know that some king rooms do not have the sliding doors due to handicap accessibility. I'm hoping we get a room that isn't handicap accessible because I dont' want to take it from someone who needs it. If we do get a handicap accessible room, will it still have the curtain that separates the bathroom area from the main room? We are hoping to put our son's pack and play in that separate area so that hopefully he will sleep a little better.

Is there anything else I need to do that I might have forgotten?

Have one for me since I had to cancel my trip. (:

I certainly will... I've read about you having to cancel and I'm so sorry
And while I know it's not Disney, enjoy your trip to Marco Island, it is beautiful there

Fyi, I called yesterday and s/w special needs....they were great! They guaranteed my room and all of my requests...even a connecting room with my brother and his family! She said I don't have to do anything else and everything is set. It definitely takes the stress out of everything! If it wasn't for your post I would never had done that. I can't tell you how appreciative of your post I am. Thank you!! I LOVE this Blog!!!!
