Sept 20 -
We were up early, had a quick breakfast in our room out of our cooler, packed up, and headed to CSR. Our room was ready at 9:00 am and we checked right in. Our room was Casitas 5313. We had no idea what view (I had reserved the cheapest room I could since I had missed all the great codes offered earlier).
Well, this ended up being a corner room on the 3rd floor with a spectacular view of the lake, Dig Site, and the Dolphin/Swan off in the distance.
What a wonderful place! DH was wide-eyed because we usually stay at dumps (he thought All Stars was luxury). He checked out the "rack rate" in the closet and just about died. "How did you get this great room for only $104 per night?"
By surfing the Dis of course!
Anyway, by 10:00 am we were off to AK on the bus. I stopped at Guest Relations and made a PS for Boma for 6:20 pm. We decided to grab a fast pass for Dinosaur and then head to Safari. Well, the park was "empty".
We got the FP but really didn't need them. We walked on Safari and were fairly disappointed that the bridge collapsing special effect didn't happen. We returned to Dinosaur which is one of our favorite rides. We felt kind of silly with our fast passes since there was virtually no line! It was good practice I figured.
We then decided to try Primeval Whirl. Well, I must tell you that DH and I over the years have both developed a tendency for motion sickness. We didn't realize how BAD this ride would effect us. Neither of us felt good for about an hour afterwards! We sat on a bench with wet napkins on the backs of necks.....I don't think I am doing a very good job "brainwashing" DH!
Well, we decided to grab a snack. Since I am on Weight Watchers I selected the juice bar and DH got the chocolate covered mouse ears. After two bites, he dropped it down the front of his shirt and a big glop landed on the ground. He's such a dork!
Feeling better we caught the Flights of Wonder show. This was great fun. We had never seen this particular show before and I enjoyed it more than other bird shows I have seen.
We finished up with Tough to Be a Bug which is another favorite. We decided to head back to CSR before the parade and beat the crowd to the buses. I wanted to try out the pool at the Dig Site before dinner.
The bus trip back was quick.
The pool was great. I like warm water and it was definitely WARM. The air temp was low 90's and the water was about the same. DH laid in a lounge chair & took pictures while I splashed around.
He looks pretty darn happy right now!
