Sorry this took so long to finish...I have company from out-of-town and it has been difficult to get to the computer!
Anyway....I left off at the CSR pool. There was alot of thunder and lightening in the distance, so we decided to head back to the room and get ready for our big dinner plans at Boma. I have heard so much about this restaurant! I cannot wait to try it.
And, I still cannot impress on everyone the absolute beauty of Coronado Springs. Every detail was amazing.
We decided to drive over to Boma. We immediately turned the wrong way and ended up turning around at the Swan. This was another good indication of why we prefer to stay on site and use the bus service!
Arriving at Animal Kingdom Lodge is another revelation. This place was awe inspiring! We were early so we wandered the grounds and the lobby. The views of the savannah and the animals were amazing (I am using that word alot). DH decided he would like to stay here sometime....the brainwashing is beginning to take effect I think.
Well, down to Boma. We checked in, got our little pager and walked outside. No sooner did we get about 20 feet from the door than it went off!
We were immediately shown to a little table near the windows and were greeted by our waitress, Sally. She let us know that we were in for the treat of our lives! The food was incredible. I am not a big meat eater, but decided to try a taste of everything except the prime rib. We had a roast chicken, marinated flank steak (super yummy), and a salmon dish. The vegetable dishes were all very good. The banana bread pudding was excellent. DH sampled EVERY dessert and definitely liked the zebra domes and every other chocolate item.
I must say that we found the quality of the food to be superb. The buffet was always well stocked and clean looking. There are many choices for those who are not adventurous with their meals. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.
DH kept asking me, "how did you find out about this place????"
Hmmmm, I wonder?
After leaving Boma, it was still fairly early. I said, "would you like to go to Downtown Disney?" He didn't have a clue what that was. Poor DH, he's so naive.
Well, we ditched the car back at CSR and hopped the bus to DTD. DH was like a kid in a candy store. He loves this stuff. We didn't have Pleasure Island tickets, but we were able to wander around outside and took advantage of the "free" concert on the soundstage. We explored some shops and basically looked like two country bumpkins on our first trip to the big city. I think we spent at least an hour in World of Disney.
We returned to the hotel late (didn't keep track of the time, but maybe around midnight).
The moon was almost full and it was rising over the lake. We had a heck of a view out of our room.
Sigh...what a wonderful day!
