Braces

How many people have braces? I have had my braces on for more than two years and I am going to get them off in 27 days. I have had something in my mouth since 2nd grade and I am in 8th. When I switch orthodontisists(sp) in 6th grade they said that nothing that the other doctor had done had helped . Well I will have straight teath soon and everything will be ok

I had just about EVERYTHING in my mouth (dont take the wrong way) when it comes to orthodontia. Spacers, retainers, palet expanders, braces, and those rubberbands that connect your top teeth to the bottom ones... Thank goodness I didn't have headgear. Right now I still have retainers to wear like once a week while I sleep to make sure my teeth stay straight. But believe me, it is totally worth it!

I wore braces for about 2 years and hated them. Now, about 4 years later, I'm so glad I had them ... It's always nice getting compliments from the oppisite sex

I've had braces for 4 1/2 years...ridiculous! I'm getting them off in 2 weeks, finally. They're really not horrible, especially if you're still in your younger teen years, because practically everyone has them then. Now I'm a senior in high school and one of about 3 people I know who still has braces, so that kinda sucks. But I'm excited to get them off...no one even remembers what I look like without them anymore.

I had my braces from middle of 6th grade to near end of 9th grade. I had spacers for about a week before I got them on. I had to wear a retainer all the time for a year, but most of the time I only wore it at night, which is funny b/c when I went to the orthodontist this summer for a check-up, he told me to start wearing the retainer only at night! I was supposed to have the rubber bands, and my braces even had the hooks for them. But about a year after I got my braces on, they told me I didn't need the rubber bands.

I agree tha it's better to have braces in your early teen years. When I had them, so did almost everyone else. Now that I'm a junior, no one has them anymore.

I had to have expanderes on the top and bottom plus herbs(the big metal things that keep your mouth straight) and four braces on top and five on the bottom, then on a disney cruise my herbs came off half way so I had to wait a week of pure sharpness on my tong(the thing in your mouth you lick stuff with, no clue how to spell it) Then when I came back they glued it back on. Then another part of my herbs came off so they glued it back on. Then once again on Thanksgiving my herbs piece cracked in half so when I went they just said that I'd had it on for six months so I could get it off
Now I have like 8 braces on top and 7 on bottom, plus rubber bands.
So yes now I have a lot in my mouth.

I've had braces for 2 years and they havent done what they were supose to do. my bottom teeth are straigh but my tops are weird.

I have braces...I've had them since Thanksgiving of last year(8th grade) and get them off Sophmore year! They don't really bug me to much! But I still can't wait until I get them off!

When I get older I might have to get the thing that conects my gums to my mouth cut. I don't know what is wrong with it, but I hope it will fix. I don't like pain, but I can stand it.
