Welcome to my very first Pre-Trip Report!


Hello everyone! I'm so super excited to be going to Walt Disney World in May and I thought I'd try a
pre-trip report, since I love browsing the trip reports here on the DisBoards! Let's start with some introductions!


Who?

Meghan & Princess Aubrey!

My name is Meghan (on the right, as you may have guessed), I'm a Pennsylvania native and full-time nursing student who has a mad, mad love for Disney World! Nursing school takes up a lot of my time - the week we are going is actually one of my only weeks off until December!

My favorite character: I love Minnie and Mickey, and Donald is a close runner-up. What can I say? I love the classics.
My Favorite Princess: I love Ariel!
My favorite park: Magic Kingdom.
My favorite WDW restaurant: I love Sanaa, 'Ohana, Sci-Fi Drive-In & Cinderella's Royal Table.
My favorite WDW quick services: Casey's!
My favorite resort: The Polynesian.
My favorite rides: Splash Mountain, Space Mountain & The Peoplemover.

This trip is all about my lovely niece, Aubrey, who will be turning five this summer! She has been an incredibly big part of my life since she was born and we have an incredibly close connection that I cherish more than anything. I joined her on her first trip this past September and watched her catch the Disney bug! She loves all thing Princess-y and really enjoys the rides, too!

Her favorite character: She has a newfound obsession with Tink!
Her Favorite Princess: Snow White, by a landslide.
Her favorite park: Magic Kingdom.
Her favorite WDW restaurant: Her favorites were Cinderella's Royal Table & Chef Mickey's.
Her favorite WDW quick services: Any place with french fries.
Her favorite resort: Any place with a pool!
Her favorite rides: Seven Dwarves Mine Train & Dumbo.

We also have one more very important travel companion. Aubrey's dog, Boo, who rarely leaves her side. Boo goes to school, dance class, this dog is very well traveled. This will be Boo's second Disney trip, as well! Aubrey loved when Dug hugged Boo!

On a lovely morning in September, after walking all the way to the bus stop, I hear, "Meghan, where's Boo?!" We walk all the way back to the hotel room, grab Boo, and then trek back to the bus stop and I hear, "Take a picture now, we're ready for our day!"

Why?

As I mentioned previously, Little Miss Aubrey will be turning 5 and this is a combination celebration for her birthday and her last hoorah before starting Kindergarten! (Oh, and also because she asks when we're returning to WDW every other day, since our trip in September). Lastly, because I just can't wait to see this excited face experience the one of a kind magic all over again:

When & Where?
​

May 4th - 10th, staying at Port Orleans Riverside in a Royal Room! This will be my first time at this resort, and I'm hoping Aubrey really likes the royal room! It will also be my first time at Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival, so there's a lot of excitement for this trip!

Let the planning commence!

Okay, so a lot of the planning has already happened, but there have been a few bumps along the way! We leave in 11 days, which is super exciting. A few days ago, I called Disney, as we hadn't received our Magical Express luggage tags... Well, it turns out I had booked two one way flights *from* Orlando, we had no outbound flight! Eek, so, less than two weeks before our trip, I rebooked airfare. I was initially crushed, but I switched some FP+ around, and everything is good now. I'm super thankful that I realized it when I did and not at the airport!

What are the plans?
​

On May 4th, we'll fly out of Philadelphia International Airport at 11:25 am, and land in Orlando at 1:51 pm. We'll be taking the Magical Express to our resort and heading straight to Magic Kingdom to jump right into the magic!

​

I'm hoping that we'll make it to the Magic Kingdom by 4:00 pm. Is that wishful thinking, I'm not sure. I've never stayed at Port Orleans, but I'll keep my fingers crossed! Our Fast Pass selections for Day #1 are as follows:

I'm pretty excited about the Be Our Guest dinner. I just snagged that a few days ago! Aubrey really loves the Beast. She cries when he turns back into a prince. Weird kid, I know. So this should hopefully be a hit! If she isn't too tired, we'll do Enchanted Tales with Belle before or after dinner. She loved it last time!

We'll be heading back to Magic Kingdom on Day #2, as well, and we'll be heading in early. The highlight of the last trip was meeting Anastasia and Drizella, which was not planned at all! Anastasia grabbed Aubrey and they rode the carousel together. I must admit, I was misty-eyed to see her enjoying the magic! It was one of my absolute favorite Disney experiences ever and I will forever be grateful for it!

Talk about magical moments! We have a variety of things planned for the rest of the trip, including Sci-Fi diner, swimming at the resort pool, a mermaid makeover at The Pirate's League, a ton of character meet and greets, and we'll see what else! We will be visiting all four parks and hope to have a blast! I'm going to turn this into a full-fledged trip report once we get home, and can't wait for my first official trip report!

A Disney Store CM - how fun! I really hope she enjoys the trip and has fond memories in the future. I've never been in May before and am hoping, like you, that we both have good weather! Fingers crossed!
