Bounceback questions

We have a trip booked in late October, and would like to schedule another one for February. If I book it now at rack rate to try to get one of our first choice resorts, and there is a bounceback offer while we are there in October, can we apply the bounceback discount to the existing reservation, or is it only good for new reservations made while you are there?

Oh, and can you use a bounceback for room-only rate, since we already have APs?
