Bounce Back?

I keep reading posts of people stating things like "We always book using bounce back."

Is this a random offering? Or did I miss something in my email after my last trip?

The bounce back offers are usually in your room. But not always. If I don't see one, I call 8844 from our room to see if/what the current offer is.

They aren't better discounts per se. But they usually contain some rooms that are excluded from General Public and AP discounts, like POFQ or Little Mermaid rooms. We like them because then we don't have to worry about whether a discount will be released for our dates. We don't have to be up at 4:00AM to book a discount once it's released. We can relax and plan our trip knowing when and where we are going.

The awesome thing about a bounce back is you can get FD a year in advance. Then if you need to make changes it is easier. The room types are better for FD too.

They offer free dining a year in advance before they even release free dining to the public? Is free dining always available when booking a bounce back offer?

Last year, the Bounceback for free dining was only for May 31- June 6 and August 26 - Oct 1, 2016 and the room discount completely excluded October and November 2016. Those dates do not work for many of us.

The 2016 General Public Offers, while meager compared to previous years, at least included more dates.

I've never used a bounce back but am eager to give it a try. I'll be staying at POFQ in July and am planning an August 2017 trip for DD's graduation. Based on what you know is typically or even possibly offered, will I be able to book that trip with the bounce back?

No...free dining is not always the bounceback offer. Generally, the bounceback matches whatever promotion is happening at the time you're at Disney. For example, the free dining bounceback is generally offered in the fall during the time free dining is in effect. Other times of the year, it's a room discount.

Room discount is what I would be hoping for. FD doesn't do much for me

Not exactly.

@Huff I booked a BB offer and have called to change dates, party size, and room since. As long as you change it to dates/places available for the BB offer, you can book one and then call back and change the details later--even a few months later, as I have done.

We will be there in June...Will the BB offer be good through 2017, or is it a shorter time span? We would like to return November 2017.
