BOULDER RIDGE VILLAS & COPPER CREEK VILLAS & CABINS: Wilderness Lodge DVC Expansion Thread

I notice the first page mentions that there will no longer be CL seating around the lobby. Is this just currently or has it been confirmed for after the construction is complete as well? It's so relaxing around the lobby, it would be a real shame If the seating was removed. Thanks
We were at the WL briefly on Tuesday and the club level is all walled off right now. There is no access to the lobby view from the current lounge right now.

The club level staff told us in January that all of the club level seating would be inside the new lounge rather than around the balcony. But Disney may change those plans. I hope they add some chairs at least, because it is a nice place to sit. :)

Hi!! Do You know when the new and remodeled Old Faithful Club will be open?I'm planning a trip to WL next in January/2017 !! Thanks!

Anyone take a guess when they will start to sell this resort? Do you think they will do an email ? I don't want to miss it! Our guide failed to tell us about The Grand we are from the UK and don't get all the emails.

It'll be all over DIS when it happens.

I would expect possibly around year-end, if they can. Christmas at WL is about the perfect time to launch the sales cycle. But it may also depend on status of the cabins (there are rules about percentage of resort "done" before timeshare sales can commence), and how much of Poly is sold through.

Thank you so much for your useful reply! Christmas would be a fabulous time wouldn't it lovely Christmas gift for me and my wife! I just can't wait and don't want to miss this add on opputunity! We scored WL at 7 months for Christmas and we are in love big time! When I found out about the new offering I am all over it like a rash! Oh yes I am buying direct like we always do. Folks can criticise as much as they like its our choice!

I haven't seen an opening date reported publicly for the new OFC lounge located in the North Wing.

You might find this chart from POST 1 helpful. Looks like apx. 1.5 years after construction starts that sales begin, so perhaps spring of 2017? This is only a guess based on this chart and not based on any facts.

Thank you very useful. I might close my eyes when the price per point gets announced!

I know no one knows for certain, but is there any speculation on completion at this point? To make a long story short, we are looking at 6/3-6/11/2017.

Long story: we are renting points from a co-worker. Her home resort is SSR so I just need to decide by 7 months out (Nov). I've always wanted to stay at WL and I have 2 young boys (4 & 2) so we'll spend 3 out of 7 park days at MK. I love the idea of being a boat ride away. I'm okay with a little construction but we'll take midday breaks where the boys will most likely nap so I don't want too much noise.

Our other options are BWV, AKV, and (my close second) BCV.

ETA: our next trip probably won't be until 2020.

I would stay away from BWV. Terrible layout and nothing for young kids. AKV is a bus or car ride to everything. BCV does have a nice pool for kids, and you can walk to Epcot and HS. But if you are planning to spend most of your time at MK, I would stick with WL. Most of the construction could be done by then, and it's still better than most resorts while under construction. Better kid appeal than BCV.

Yeh I've been hearing bad reviews of BWV though I was drawn to it at first bc of location, the fun looking pool, and the (little bit) bigger villas. AKL's draw is theming and animals but I've always thought it's too far out. I like Cape May, and Stormalong Bay looks nice, as well as the resort, and the location is great at BCV. That's why it is my 2nd choice, but ultimately I really want WL.

Thanks for the reply.

If you plan on going to MK that much, certainly VWL would be a fine choice. Construction certainly will be ongoing still, but they don't start until 9 in the morning and are done by 5. When we were there, there was no work being done on the weekends, though that may have changed. Further, when completely inside our room, and we were on the construction side, the noise was minimal and certainly nothing that would keep kids from napping. BCV is a fun resort given the pool but lacks the convenience to MK. AKV is very lovely, and your boys would love the animals, but again, it's not convenient to MK. The most convenient to MK, of course, is BLT, and though you don't mention it, I believe it would be a fine choice. The rooms are a touch smaller but easily doable, and you can't beat walking to MK. Plus, you have the monorail. The pool area is good for younger kids, as well. Obviously, at 7 months your choices might be limited, so you might have to go with what you can get. All things being equal, I'd go VWL, BLT, AKV. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately my coworker doesn't have enough points to rent for BLT. I was fairly convinced of VWL before but now I'm certain. Thanks, again.

Humphrey's Unofficial Wilderness Lodge Pages on Facebook has updated videos, pics, and info on the Lodge.

The only date I could find in all the related construction documents was April 2017, but it could very well be later than that. However, it's unknown when currently closed amenities will re-open.

Well, we booked the Villas for 5/1-5/8. We figure that if it's still a hot mess (which I won't think it will be based on past performance) we can hopefully book somewhere else. I can only hope it's close to completion.
