Boulder Ridge Studios Murphy Beds

My family and I are planning a trip for next year and would like to stay in a studio at Boulder Ridge. From what I've gathered, most of the studios there have murphy beds, except for the top floor which still has pull out couches. Is this correct? Is it possible to request a room with a murphy bed? A pull out couch is a deal breaker for me, so I'm nervous to book at BRV and then end up with one when I check in.

I've had better luck asking for both a type of room and then also giving a range of room numbers that would meet your specific request. I've given up to 6 room numbers to give them what I'm looking for and so far that's yielded better results. I will note that doing this does seem to delay check in by a bit.

I’m in same boat. Have an autistic teen and we had to leave kidani because he can feel the springs and it would squeak when he moved and it drove him crazy. I had no idea the top floor of BR had no Murphy bed. We are now 2 months out and there’s nothing else available and I’m freaking out (we just found out yesterday while watching you tube videos)

I just found this out as well. Make that your only request.
Murphy bed; Not top floor.
I would call agent can make more notes.

In these cases where there’s alot more inventory of the room you prefer (assuming you are ok with Floors 1-4, and just want to avoid Floor 5), our strategy has been along these lines:

Make the request

Have a back up for arrival day where you can pop into the lobby earlier than check-in time

Accept that you might need to wait longer in compromise to getting the room you prefer

Keep checking text for ‘Room Ready’ info

If you don’t get a text, or get assigned a room you do not want (top floor here), go to the lobby ~1pm or 2pm and see if they can help. I let them know we are willing to wait and our highest priority is the room type (murphy bed here). Still not a guarantee, but they’ll work with you if possible.

There are 65 BRV studios. Only a handful are on the top floor. Odds are in your favor here.

This strategy isn’t good when the rooms to avoid are a large number of what exists.

Basically you want to let them know it is very important to you before they assign most of opening rooms. Yes they do assign prior, but I’m talking about on the actually day when they are pushing through the assignments as the rooms come ready. Things can still be switched for rooms that haven’t sent room ready text yet and are physically unoccupied.

What room type do you have reserved? If I'm reading Touring Plans correctly, there are only 2 studios on the 5th floor. So you'd have good odds

We are three guys and have booked a Boulder Ridge studio. Am I correct in assuming that there is a queen bed, the Murphy queen bed and a single Murphy on the TV side? (We would prefer to sleep in separate beds.)
Follow-up question: Are there any adults with experience on the single Murphy bed?

The single murphy bed under the TV is meant for a child. I don't think an adult man would fit in it, let alone be comfortable sleeping in it.

Thanks, that is good information. Is there any detailed information about this bed I can find (e.g. size)?

The single Murphy beds are all on the narrow side - about 30”. The length varies by resort. Most resorts are around 67” long, but Poly long houses are longer by a decent amount… I think 70+”.

Smaller adults in our party have been fine using them. The comfort seems to be a risk for larger or older adults.
