bougt itunes gift cards at Kohls - can I take them back?--- Update in #1

Apperently I bought the wrong gift cards for the cousins this year. I bought the 3 $10 itunes gift pack (meaning the gift cards are still in a plastic outer wrap) from Kohls. My quesiton is can I return these and get my money back? It turns out they would rather have gift cards to the book store this year.

UPDATE: My daughter says that the cousins love itunes so I am just going to send the gift cards and not return them. I never even tired to return them so I don't know what kohls would have done.

I wouldn't think it would be a problem. Kohl's is usually pretty easy to deal with.

You might have an issue because they've been activated. I believe all gift cards that hang, are useless until paid for. I don't know if they can deactivate it.

A number of stores I have seen signs saying that Gift Cards are not refundable. Good Luck.

I wouldn't think you could...but Kohl's does have a policy of no hassel returns

if they are pre-loaded and do not get activated i do not see it being a problem. if they are activated i can see it being an issue. giftcards are treated differently b/c even though you pay for them like merchandise they are really a tender. also if you can access the cards numbers there is no guarantee you have not recorded the number to store for later use so it becomes a security issue for them.

Give them the iTunes cards, along with a download of the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" .

Okay, very seriously. I understand they want bookstore gift cards. That doesn't mean everybody/anybody has to give them that gift. Give what you choose.

If it doesn't work out, those 10.00 3-packs aren't a bad thing to just have around the house.

You can just pull them out one at a time and use them for quick thank you gifts that seem to come up out of nowhere:

examples:
For your kid's coach at the end of the season
For the scout leader or youth group director or sunday school teacher
For your hairdresser
For your kid's teacher
For the neighbor who stops by to shovel your walk
Last minute birthday gifts
Babysitter on the night you get home a lot later than you thought you would


Anyway-- I've always found them useful.....

I'm 99% postive you can't get a refund on Gift cards. I cashier at Kohls and Every giftcard I've ever rang up comes up saying not refundable/returnable. I'd just keep cards or give them and let them deal with doing something with them.
