Just about a week ago Toys R Us had the Buy 1 Get 1 50% off all video games sale. I got Super Mario Land and Epic Mickey for the 3DS, using $3 in rewards, for about $62 total. They rang Super Mario Land first, so that shows as 40 and Epic Mickey shows as 20. Now, Epic Mickey is on sale online for 19.99. Can they do some kind of price adjustment for Epic Mickey, or will they say no because that was the game I got for 50% off? Can I just bring the game to the store and exchange it (maybe without the receipt) for a different game that is normally $40?

Huh you paid $20 for the game, now its on sale for $19.99 you want 1 cent back?

I doubt they will give you 50% of $19.99, if you were to return the game for a refund they would give you the $20 back not full price...

I would like either $10 back (1/2 of the 20 price), or to trade for a different game that's normally $40. The second option is preferable.

If you returned both of the games and if they still have buy one get one 1/2 off, you'd then be looking at $40 + $10, so you'd be saving $10. But that's several IFs. Otherwise you're looking at the same prices you paid already. $40 for the first and $19.99 for the second.

If you don't have receipt, they will give you the lowest sale price it has been at. So, it depends on how low the price has been. It may register that it could have been a 50% off item and only give you the price you actually paid. I bought Roller skates that cost $20, but I used a groupon. I found them cheaper at kohls. I decided to return them without receipt, because my receipt said the return value was only $9, because of my groupon. You would think I could return and get something the same price, but no! It kind of voids your groupon, which I paid for. Anyway, I only got a $12 credit.

I worked at TRU some odd years ago and unless policies have changed you should have no problem exchanging for a game priced equal to what the epic mickey is listed as prior to discount. If you return it, with or without receipt you will only get the $19.99.
On the other hand, like PP said unless the sale of b1g1 50% off is still happening then you won't be able to get the $10 back and keep the game too. It's not likely for the price to drop 50% and them still have that sale though.
