Hi I am not sure if this is the right board or not ... but here goes. I purchased some so-called Disney Trading pins off of ebay and well they are fakes!! They have been copied somehow and you can look on the back to see the lines and even the copied Disney logo. Before I report this and try to get my $$ back i want to be sure of what I am talking about. These pins are much lighter weight than my others too. My others also came w/mickey backs on them and these ones did not.

Any ideas out there? What should my next course of action be? I purchased them from an American living in Israel too. I may not be able to get my money back, but I will tarnish their name on ebay!

Thanks so very much for your help! Of course, we are heading to Disney soon and luckily I purchased some genuine Disney pins from cheapins. Very disappointed.::yes::

It's hard to say sometimes, what's fake and what's not. The pins from Spain are not of the same material as those we're used to here. But they're still quite tradeable in the parks. Your best bet is to look up the pins on pinpics.com. It's a good reference for identifying bootleg or fantasy pins.

My guess is the pins you have are probably from Europe, and are smaller and lighter, and may have a black backing.
They most likely are tradable, if this is the case.
What do these pins look like? (characters, poses, metal type, finish, etc)

Thank you to both of you for your help! I really thought I had got ripped off, but now I am thinking differently. There are 44 pins in all and some of them have black backings. They are all lighter weight and feel different than those from cheapins. They don't have the nice quality of those from cheapins .. the colors are not as sharp and defined. These are various pins w/Minnie, Mickey, Pocohantas and etc.

I emailed the seller and he said that they are genuine Disney pins made with a European licensee called Sedesma? He purchased them from his son & his son is going to email me.

I am going to look at the suggested sites. I do have a pic of them all, but do not know how to put it on here.

Thank you all so very very much!!! I love these boards.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :sunny: and hopefully we'll be trading ALL of our pins soon at WDW.

Yep -- Spain pins. ;)
They are not as good quality, true. They are cheaper pins.
But -- they do at least have different poses and sometimes obscure characters.
They are tradable. And I don't think there is any true collector who does not have some in their collection. I sure do. ;) I don't care WHERE it was made if it is Toy Story, Monsters, etc.
Have fun! :)

Sedesma! That's the company. :) Anyway, yes, they're very tradeable. I have a few in my Monster's Inc collection.

:sunny: Thx again :sunny: I will write and apologize to the ebay seller if I offended him in any way.

Enjoy the Holidays!!:wave2:
