Do most resort "stores" have multi-packs of bottled water for sale, that would possibly be cheaper than buying the bottles seperately at the parks? We were thinking maybe we could buy a multi-pack at the resort store and bring cold bottles into the park with us in the am.

Thanks for any info! :goodvibes

I don't think so. The prices at the resorts are generally the same as in the parks. The resort stores do have large bottles that you can pour several bottles of water out of, but I've not seen a "six pack" of water for sale. You could have a grocery delivery place get you a case of two of water or I think several people have ordered water from Staples

If you are by any chance renting a car while you are there, I would suggest stopping at Hess Gas Station. We got ours there and it was really, really cheap for 24 bottles (can't remember exact price...but it was really good).

...and if you are flying try this; I packed 12 bottles of water in 2 different suitcases grouped in 3's in strong ziplocks, then I layered airfilled plastic packing material around each. I also put the puffed air plastic wrap around and between 10 packages of my son's favorite mini-muffins and they came through just fine as well. Then with the food and wrap consumed, you have more room for souvenires on the return trip. And if you are in a value resort, join a refrigerator swap to avoid paying for one. Then you have cold (or frozen) water bottles every day.

You can get free ice water from any counter service location and any snack stands with a soda fountain.

Heck of a lot easier than carrying bottles around and the water is always cold.

We used Garden Grocer to deliver water to our hotel for our trip 2 weeks ago. Worked great!

Thank you all so much!!

Did you only have water delivered, or other food as well? We don't usually need many food items in our room, so we buy donuts/pop tarts, chips at the resort store. I just figured having only water delivered wouldn't be worth it once we paid the delivery fees.

As far as tap water...I'm nervous about drinking tap water anywhere, even my home. I was just wondering if we could save a little money by buying water bottles in "bulk" at the resort store, instead of in singles at the park or a vending machine.

We are DVC members, but are only staying in a studio (no full kitchen). And we are not renting a car (using Magical Express).

Thanks again, for all of the information. I really appreciate it!

They required a $40 minimum and the delivery fee was small. We stayed in a moderate and only had the small fridge. We got a 24 pack of poland spring water, an 8 pack of coke, a bunch of vitamin waters for my DH, some granola bars and goldfish. It was great to have waiting for us ice cold in the room or to bring with us to the parks. We left the leftover waters for housekeeping with a note and took home the leftover granola bars & goldfish.

Worked great for us and it's just DH & myself. I highly recommend it.:thumbsup2

I did this too. I put 3 bottles of water in a ziploc bag and put 1 bag in each of our 4 suitcases. They came through fine.

I am all for saving money - heck I have been called scrooge on many occasions. But, I am just curious how much money do you really save by buying water bottles in bulk and have it shipped/delivered etc to your room. I can see if you're camping and you need other grocery, then order some bottled water at the same time. But to order just bottled water and then have to carry them to the parks all the time - to me seems like needless slave labor :)

well i paid $10 for 24 bottles of water. in the park you pay $2.50-$3.00 per bottle. I think i saved quite a bit of money!

As for packing water in your checked luggage, i just wouldn't want to take the chance of it bursting and soaking my suitcase and possibly someone else's. I've seen how rough they are with the luggage. And I've heard many stories on here of people who've had things burst in their luggage or received their luggage and it was wet from someone else's stuff bursting.

I guess it's all relative :) Bottled water at park is actually $2/bottle.

I personally would hate to have wet clothes before I even got on Splash Mountain.

well then $2 was the tiny bottles and $2.50 was the bigger bottles. The size I got in my 24 pack was the size of the bigger ones. So for the sake of argument, say $2 x 24 = $48. I paid $10. So it saved me $38. I feel it was worth it.

obviously i wouldn't care as much about wet clothes on a water ride. but i wouldn't want wet clothes to put on when i got out of the shower in the morning to wear around all day till they dried. but i guess that's just a matter of personal choice.
