I will be taking my son and D-I-L to WDW the first week in October. My son has already said he wants to do all four main parks, both water parks, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest, rent ski raycers, and do parasailing. The only problem is, we will only have five full days (plus 1/2 days on arrival and departure days). I was thinking about doing Disney Quest then Pleasure Island on our arrival day, then spending a day in each main park, then trying to do both water parks in one day. Is this doable? I have an AP and plan on buying them 4 day tickets with hopping and pluses. In order to use their pluses we would need to do both water parks and Disney Quest. I know PI is also a plus, but with my AP and DDE card, I'll just pay for that. I keep telling my son that commando type touring is not the way to go and he says he understands that there will be alot of stuff we won't have time to do, but he wants to get everything in that he can. Unfortunately due to his job he can't get off any longer and we are going to have to drive down, because my D-I-L refuses to fly. Anyway back to my original question. Is it possible to enjoy both water parks in one day? We would probably go on a Monday, knowing they would be too full on a Friday or Saturday.

There is no hopping available for the water parks. You will have to use 2 of your plusses in a day for the water parks. Back a long time ago they did have hopping and we went to both parks in a day. We enjoyed both of them. TL is our favorite now though.

Thanks, I know they don't have hopping at the water parks. I'd planned for them to use their two pluses that they would have left. I believe four day plus tickets have three pluses. Right? They would use one for Disney Quest on our arrival day and then two the day we went to the water parks. I would use my AP discount to get me tickets for all three places. I just wanted to know if we would have time to do both water parks in one day.

Although that brings up another point. With the new base tickets you can't use an extra day to go into a second park I know, but can you use two pluses in one day?

You can use 2 pluses in 2 days. Just like if you don't add hopping-- you technically can use 2 whole ticket days in 1 day for 2 parks (got that?? :) ) If you get there right at opening-- then you should be able to do 1/2 days at each park.
I think I'd point your son in the direction of our boards. I would be so worried that w/ the extreme amount of stuff he wants to get done-- nothing will actually be enjoyed.
Also, don't forget that the F&W fest is in Epcot at that time of year. As well, as MNSSHP at the MK. The are both really great events.

The first time we went to the Water parks we did both in one day. It was great. We generally only spend 3-4 hours at the water parks now, so it would still work for us. Disney Quest is the same for us, only stay a few hours each time, mainly because the VR rides give me a headache.

I took my DD12 Oct 2003 to DW. We went to all the parks plus the cruise. The absolute highlight for me was on a Tuesday. We woke at 5:30 am and she took the surfing lesson at Typhoon lagoon (bring your video camera). Then we spent until 1:00 there and took a cab to BB and stayed until 5:00 followed by shower, Disneyquest, Crabhouse, and Cirque. All in one day. She did hit the wall the next day (okay we both did) but it was the highlight of our trip. Back then I guess park hoppers were the norm. It was truly once in a lifetime.

Just a correction to Kilee's post.
According to everything I've read, you CANNOT use 2 days of a MYW base ticket to go to 2 parks on the same day.
But yes, you can use 2 pluses on the same day.

We are also trying to figure out how to fit both water parks into our trip. I hadn't really thought of going to both on the same day, but maybe it's worth considering.

Can you tell me more about the surfing lesson? Is it extra $$? Is everything needed included or do you need to bring anything special? What ages would you think are best for it? My DDs will be 13 & 11 when we next go to WDW, and DS will be 6.

Thanks!

This is consistent with what I've seen as well. From allearsnet:

"Am I allowed to use two days off of my MYW Base ticket (non-hopping) if I decide I want to go to a second park on the same day as the first?

No you are not. The tickets are sold and the computer system is based on the number of days you have, not the number of park visits. Once you have used a non-park hopping ticket at any park, the computer system will not let you use it at another park on the same day."

Cheers.
