Hi,
I need a touring plan for a family with 2 teens. This will be our first visit and we'd like to do as much as possible in the 2 parks in one day. We can skip tea cups, parades and the like. We love coasters but we also love shows like the Philharmagic in WDW. We love to go to WDW and use the fastpass system to see ride as much as possible. We will be going Feb 20 or 21 or 22. WHich park first? Which ride first? What are the must eat snacks, any dole whips? Thanks in advance!

2 teens that are Coaster fans huh?

Both parks are apparently due to open at 10am on the days you are planning to go.

I would start bright and early at 10am, making sure you are there for Studios opening - Crush's Coaster tends to attract huge queues and first thing in the morning is the best time to ride, as the queue for that ride can hit the 2 hour mark and stay there all day! (and there is no fastpass to beat the queue)

You can choose to hit up the other rides after Crush (theres also Tower of Terror and Rock and Roller Coaster) but personally I would hotfoot it out of Studios once you've gotten Crush done, as the other rides have quicker turn around. Get to Parc Disneyland and fastpass Thunder Mesa ASAP, then ride Space Mountain or Indiana Jones (or both if the time window for Thunder is considerably pushed back). If you have some time spare, try and fit in a round of buzz or lunch, then exit for studios.

Back in Studios try to ride Tower of Terror or Rock and Roller, check times for Animagique and Cinemagic and try to fit those in too, as they are great original DLP shows. Then freestyle it from there (if you have any time left!)

Of course you don't have to do it exactly that way, though I do rather stress getting Crush out the way asap if possible. It's a slow loading ride so that queue is a VERY slow moving one. Thunder Mesa has the benefit of fastpass and the fact it takes more people per ride.

Some great advice already, I would add a few tips, although I have only ever been to dlp in mid season and high season so feb may be different:

Will you have bought your admission before you arrive? I would highly reccommend doing so, if you can't I would say be at the park gates at 9.15.

If you have your admission I would be at the park gates at 9.30, right at a turnstile. If its anything like when I was there, every second faster you can get to Crush will save you so much waiting time- we got to the park 10am sharp one day (when it opened at 10) rushed straight to crush and the queue was already 45 minutes. When the turnstile opens head straight to Crush.

After Crush there are a few other attractions unique to Walt Disney studios. Toy story play land contains 3 rides that can be found at fairgrounds, so many are not fans, but I think for the queuing area and experience at least toy soldiers parachute drop is worth doing (maybe RC racer, I've never done it before). I think both would appeal to teens. They attract long queues so I'd reccommend going there after crushing if you want to ride (parachites has a single rider q which may shorten your wait).

Then I would do as suggested above. And head to disneyland park. Just a small point but thunder Mesa is the town and Big Thunder Mountain is the ride. After doing the coasters in the park, I'd reccommend experiencing phantom manor and pirates, both are different from their wdw counterparts and are fast loading so should have short waits. Also a unique to dlp experience you should not miss is the castle- the dragons den below and gallery above. Adventure land Isle can be fun to explore if you have 10 mins spare.

Finally definitely do cinemagique as suggested above, and if you are at the studios with time to spare after doing everything recommended, moteurs stunts show is also quite good.

Some of the ticket offices under the DLH are open from 8.00 am so if you are buying a ticket on the day you can get there that early :goodvibes

Otherwise look at buying one at least 5 days in advance from the Fnac and you will save a bit of money for your spending in the park.

You can either print them off for an extra 50cts or go and pick them up in any Fnac store - there are many in Paris

Gates open at 9.30 so I'd second getting there before that and queing at Studios gates to run to Crush :lmao: Though if the weather continues like at present the queues will be way down on Crush and you will be able to ride it several times in the day

Just wanted to mention that with Crush's Coaster, whenever we've gone straight there at opening there's already been quite a queue. We've always found it better to leave it till last - if you go there 10-15 mins or so before park closing the queue generally seems to be pretty low. Last month we did this and managed to ride it both days - one time we only waited 12 mins!

Good luck!

We did this the first time we went post-Crush opening, and the ride had been shut for some kind of technical prob mid afternoon so we didn't get to ride:(

It was closed for the rest of our trip for planned refurb, so next time we got there first thing and had approx 1 hr queue (even while everything else in the park had about a 10 min max wait!) If only this ride wasn't so good and you
could just skip it!

Teenagers might like RC Racer too - I think it has single rider now? If you don't want to see the stunt show in the Studios, then ToT and RnRC are often quieter then.

Also to add that I've heard that at WDW you can use your FP any time after the first time stated - at DLP you have to use it within the time window, so need to plan around your FP windows! If the ride is closed during that time then they usually seem to let you come back later.

As for snacks, people here love the Mickey Brioche, but I've never had one (next time!). I also LOVE the Disney hot chocolate :)
Have a great trip!
