Bostonians - Bomb Hoax

I'm not a bomb specialist, but those devices they found do not like bombs to me. They look like Lite-brites.
Guess it's better to be safe than sorry though.

I know...it's really sad we have to live like that. If anything, it made us think...9/11 wasn't that long ago.

There is so much NOT being reported its hard to say where the blame should lay!

-Dont Turner Broadcasting need some sort of a permit to place these all over the city? If so then someone OK'd it!

-If these were used to promote a TV show....where were the logos?

-Didnt anybody see anybody places these around the city?

-How long were they there?

One thing for sure, The people of Boston could all use a drink!

It's on the Drudge Report; www.drudgereport.com. Patrick Duval handles his first real crisis with Mumbles Minino heading up the press conference. Apparently it was an advertising campaign planned for 9 other cities. I will bet someone is scurrying around looking for light boxes as we speak. One person has been arrested.

Its Boston. The city of origin of 2 of the planes from 9/11.

You better believe that don't want to get caught with their pants down AGAIN. Anything of suspect is going to be checked. And a "lite-brite" device UNDER a bridge IN Boston....is suspect.

We are geocachers. (www.geocaching.com) And geocachers have to be careful not to cause fear in they way we hid caches & what they look like. We clearly label them on the outside with website & cache# & owners. BUT, that hasn't caused some police to still be alarmed by one once in a while.

After spending the last hour reading, what I don't understand is why Boston, out of all the other cities which had these light up ads hanging, reacted (or overreacted) this way. As a Bostonian, I'm really embarassed. Between the Big Dig fiasco and this, as a city we look like a bunch of idiots and it's sad because we were always recognized as one of the more "intelligent" states. It just seems like over the last few years, the state has taken a very bad turn.

When it comes to fear, paranoia, I am typically the kind that gets nervous easily, but when I saw these light up ads, I couldn't believe how Boston acted as a city. It was like watching a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. I've seen other cities perform so much better in situations like this and it frightens me that they don't appear to have their act together after all these years (9/11).

The first one was found at 8am. As they proceeded to find more all day, they didn't know what they were dealing with. Could there be 10 fake "bombs" & one "real" bomb? What if they didn't get to it in time?

It wasn't until almost 5pm that Turner stepped forward with a statement that they were sure what was going on.

I say...better safe than sorry AGAIN. How would Boston look if they let it happen AGAIN?

Easy to say now that they maybe over-reacted....but what would you rather have them do? Sit & WAIT for something to blow up? Oh....golly gee....i guess one of them was real.
