borrowing tranferred in points?

Does anyone know if you can borrow points that another member gives you or can they only be used in their current use year?

No, you can not borrow transferred points. You can bank them.

Yep, no borrowing, but you can bank them as long as the points are still bankable according to their original use year, not the recipients' use year.
