Borrowing points question for Aulani

We have the opportunity next year to go to Aulani and want to book a 2 bedroom for the first week of June 2017. Our use year begins in June. We only have 7 points in our 2016/2017 use year and 240 points in our 2017/2018 use year. We want to stay for 7 nights but that's not going to be quite enough points. My question is since the reservation will be in start of our use year in June 2017 can I borrow points from the 2018/2019 use year starting in the 7 month window which opens in November? Thanks!!

With a June UY you can use the following points for a June 2017 stay:

Banked 2016 points
Current 2017 points
Borrowed 2018 points

You need to bank the 2016 points prior to making the reservation. Borrowing occurs when you make a reservation though.

The points for June 2016 are in your 2016 UY. The points in June 2017 are in the 2017 UY. It might be needlessly confusing you to call it 16/17 etc.

Imagine the confusion of those with December UYs, by the way!

Your 2016 UY points are good for vacations from June 1 2016 to May 31 2017. As Kat says, you have to bank those 7 2016 points (making them 2017 points) to use them in June 2017. The 2017 points in your account can be used for that June 2017 reservation.

And then, yep, those June UY 2018 points can be borrowed "back" to the 2017 UY to be used for the June 2017 reservation.
