I've been to Disney World 5 times with other adults (soon to be 6). I took my nieces (one when she was 10, the other when she was 11), and my goddaughter last January (for her 9th birthday). Now I'm taking her brother, my godson, next December when he'll be 7 1/2.

He's very curious & bright, and has more energy than should be legal. And not so much interested in princesses. How do I keep him occupied & wear him out without killing myself? :scared:

We took my DS this (last, now) January right before he turned 8, I think you will both have a great time. Hopefully this boy will like roller coasters my DS loved loved the tower of terror and rock n roller coaster, he still talks about them and cannot wait until we can go back to ride them again. We went to the hoop dee do revue and 50's dinner ( mom (me) put her elbows on the table and didn't get served her drink, he still tells anyone who will listen) and he loved both of those also.

I think you will have fun with a little planning(find out what he likes).

I think he'll like rollercoasters. He's never been to an amusement park (his sister hadn't either - and she LOVED rollercoasters....if it didn't go 50 miles per hour, she wasn't interested), so it's hard to know for sure what he'll like.

I was thinking about the Hoop Dee Doo and the 50's Prime Time, and the Sci Fi Drive In, and Whispering Canyon Cafe (and I KNOW he'll be asking for Ketchup). And maybe that new T-Rex (though I haven't been there yet).

I'm wondering if he'll be too young to enjoy DisneyQuest...? He seems to like video games and such.

There are lots of things for boys to do at disney. If you need to let him run around and burn off energy, then Tom Sawyer Island is great. I think 7 years old is too young for disney quest. My boys like the Lego play area at the lego store. They like so much about disney there is too much to mention.

If he's looking for arcade games, I suggest the arcade at your resort. I know my boys were fine with the resort arcades at that age.
In addition to Tom Sawyer Island at MK, there is the Boneyard at AK and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at DHS if you need to burn extra energy. At Epcot, I suggest the free masks at the Kidcot stops in WS and the Kidcot stops in FW as well. AK also has Kidcot stops where they can get a booklet stamped.
Swimming at the pool is a great activity for kids with high energy.

One thing I found with my boys at that age is that they were still young enough to believe in the magic/ characters etc... but old enough for all the rides. It is a great combination but it can wear you out if they want to do everything. :faint:

Disney will probably wear him out, but if it doesn't don't forget the kids' clubs are there for you to use if you need a breather. :thumbsup2
