Any use Boost Mobile? We are trying to cut back on things, and this deal looks like a great way to cut back on cell phone expenses. Our two years are going to be up with Verizon soon - I think. Anyone know of a way to check that on the web for your contract term date?

Thanks for any input !

I use a mobile boost phone I got from walmart. I dont use the phone much. The "direct link" or as we call it in this area the "beep beep" is kind of expensive $1 a day if you use it. (the first beep cost you the doller after that all of thim are free for the day) I just use it as a phone, like 10 or 15 cents a min. I think. You have to put money ($20 is the chepest card walmart sells) every 3 months. that is the only thing I dont like about it is if you dont put money on it in 3 months the you will louse the phone use. I have over $100 on mine now but still on oct. I will put another 20 on it.

sounds like you may be going with one of the monthly plans so none of this may mean any thing to you.

the service in this area is as good as most any other cell

I've used Boost in the past (primarily for their walkie-talkie function -- I buy the iXXX series phones when they go on clearance and use them while @ WDW in lieu of our iPhone -- if the Boost phone gets lost/damaged, I won't lose any sleep over it).

Just be aware that Boost offers two completely different types of service:

  • Phone/Walkie-Talkie (it works across Nextel's national network)
  • Phone/Smartphone (this works on the Sprint Nationwide Network)
My advice to OP is to make sure your calling area has the right service for the phone/service you want.

Dh has been using it pretty successfully. He bought the phone from Walmart. I add minutes online as there is usually some code out to get extra minutes added free when you purchase more.
