9 - Epilogue
Port Orleans-Riverside
November 5-11, 2001
Cast: Nana - "Disney" coordinator, 55 yrs old
Boo - Grandson, 2½ years
DD - Boo's mama, 29 yrs old
DS - 25 yrs old
We're ready to go back. We missed too much: never got back to World Showcase for just wandering, shopping and more Passport stamps; I so wanted a layered Margarita in Mexico and cheese soup & pretzel bread - it that in France?; never made it back to the Studios for Fantasmic; no Dole Whip this time; no leisure resort time; I could go on. DD has already commented several times that she's ready to start planning the next trip. Tentative dates - 1st week in December 2003. Of course, as reported in the first chapter of this saga, participants will depend on several variables.
We will stay longer and plan a real "chill"day mid week and maybe a couple of slow afternoons; DS says he will add another round of golf while we chill. Also in the notes for next time is later flight home - no more of this middle of the night stuff (unless it's trip down, of course). Take a full, empty suitcase, not just a couple of extra totes, to bring home all the loot. Resort undecided; maybe I will be DVC member by then.
Although we enjoyed all our meals, we will probably keep the character meals (maybe add Cinderella's Royal Table), but limit the other big meals to counter service.
This trip, however, was a huge success. The time spent with my children was priceless; a memory we can relive for a long time and Boo can remember through pictures. DD already has developed her film and is bringing them tomorrow (11/17). I haven't even taken mine in yet. Can't wait to get started on our trip scrapbook.
