My calendar is marked.
OKW - booked
PAP purchased
180 days for the ADRs.
60 days for the FPs.

We already have anxiety waiting for the military approvals for our DD and her DF to come through.
We have the anxiety of my husband's new cancer diagnosis and the upcoming surgery.

We were so looking forward to our next trip. My future SIL has never been and always wanted to go. The planning gives me a distractions from other ugliness in my world.

That alarm clock will go off at 5:45 a.m. in June. I will have the screens open and ready to go to get those FP+ but will I see?

Likely all booked because there is a new tier in the game - pay to play at 90 days (let's not kid, it's really going to be 90 + the end of the trip). Add that to the pervasiveness of the 'professional' tour people and others booking throwaway rooms all without the currently imposed tier restrictions at the 3/4 parks and there we are looking at a week of schlepping around watching the Muppets.

The best part is that we can't reasonably play. Oh, I can see the posts now - of course, you could just throw away your DVC membership and book one of the other rooms because, that is reasonable. Disney is a business. And all business are reasonable. Ask them.

BOOM.

If that’s what you choose to do, do it. You can also continue to check FPs, make sure you’re checking at the parks, and enjoy the queues of the rides you would queue up for. After all, you can’t do ALL rides FP+.

You have a lot of separate stressors. Don’t let them combine. And don’t stress about things you can’t do anything about.

And I would recommend not reading the threads about it.

Are you as horrified by the whole thing?

When I first stumbled on it, I had no idea what it was. Being curious and in planning mode, I read it. As a DVC member, it is not of practical value but more importantly, I find it highly unethical. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Disney get their IT act together and just cancel as soon as the guest doesn't pay for the second night of the vacation. Without notification at 7DMT Just an I'm sorry, Guest, your FPs are not in the system. Please check with Guest Services. BUT, but, but - see I have them in my MDE account. Yes, we see that - we also see that you booked them as a resort guest 60 days out but our records indicate you are not currently a paying resort guest so Bye, bye. Come again! Can't wait to see you.

Oddly, they will no problem telling DVC (and othe resort) guests that when there are no FP at the 60 day mark.

Just angy right now. And, disappointed.

At this point there is not much you can do to change what is going on. Just make sure you get online as early as you can. I try to map out what rides we want for fast passes ahead of time.

I think since this is only effecting club level at the moment, I don't think we will see a real impact just yet.

I doubt you will notice any change with the availability of FP's at 60 days. The number of FP's being booked at 90 days won't be very high in the overall scheme of things and we don't even know if Disney will simply add more FP's to the pool to account for any additional FP's being booked at 90 days.

There aren't that many club level rooms and they are very expensive. I don't see this being a massive number of FPs taken out of the game at 90 days.

Time will tell. Remember it everyone 90 -`97 (assumes a week stay) rolling until your're at 60. Plus they can FP for major attractions (6 times)

Soar'n, Test Track, Frozen can all be taken for the pay-for-play. The rest of us will be stuck with picking one/day and only one/day.

Already nt a FP+ fan - hate having to crystal ball the weather and everyone's current mood/health 60 days n advance.

I already have them mapped for August. LOL my ADR 180 is just around the corner.

Everyone who stays at a WDW resort or DVC does pay-for-play. No sense in being bitter about it.

Confused? We are DVC members. We pay - my dues are $193 every month compared to the $56 when we bought the membership - that is way beyond inflation costs. At least offer it to us - I can assure you the DVC sale's pitch is heavy on all things "membership". Very quickly, the membership becomes meaningless if the only way to get FP is to stay at certain resorts at a certain level of room - if we want that, we would have to shell out $$ in addition to the 10s of thousands already paid.

It's not going to be the only way. There are a lot more top-tier FPs than there are club level guests.

Everyone who stays at a WDW resort or DVC gets a 30 day advantage over most offsite guests. So we're doing pay-for-play, too.

Yes, of course they do.

Sadly, this thread reminds me of a painful decision reached back in 2014, following our first extended family trip after the introduction of Magic Bands with MDE/FP+. The entire process killed our former enjoyment of inviting friends and family to come share our timeshare. Forget about that! For WDW, it is "every man for himself" -- no more sharing, no more group trips, no more, not gonna do it.

Sadly we reached this decision not because our guests gave us difficulties -- but because DISNEY gave us troubles with the complex layers of MDE and FP+ planning. So, we still invite others to share our non-Disney timeshare travels but never again do we intend to share WDW with anybody. Just too hard and uncomfortable.

Come August, I think you'll find the FP+ issues to be of little consequence when you are with your daughter and her wide-eyed-8-years-old-again fiancé (whose approvals came through), up at some ungodly hour so you can rope drop a Slinky Dog Ride... with your husband who is healthy enough to charge through the park with you.

I'm about as type-A, plan, plan, plan, as you can get, so I feel you. I really do. But I'm guessing that this won't turn out to be as bad as you think it will. And if it is? You'll still be spending time surrounded by people you clearly care very much about. A recipe for a great vacation... muppets notwithstanding.

You are one of the kindest souls I have ever met. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Really, just without words

Right now I too don't believe it is going to effect much, but if/when they roll it out to other resorts, and more people are on board with it, it could get ugly.
