Booking Window Question

I was wondering when booking in the 11th and 7th month window is that by month or by date of the month you are travelling? i.e., if I want to book for
December 6, 2003, when can I start calling 2/1/03 or 2/6/03.

I have also read post of people calling day to day, is that just to get any reservation?

In case anyone is wondering about my screen name, it is all about my daughter not me!!!! We just returned from a WDW vacation (staying or rented points at OKW) and I saw this Tinkerbell shirt that I purchased for my 5 yr. old that had a picture of Tink with Miss Attitude at the bottom, it was so her and I just loved the saying and she loves the shirt!

It's 11 or 7 months from your checkout day. So you if you are staying December 10 to 15, you could call for the entire reservation on January 15 (11 months) or May 15 (7 months). If you want to do day by day, December 10 would checkout on December 11, so you could call for that one night on January 11 or May 11 and then add the additional nights day by day. Be sure to tell them you are doing that so that they can note the file not to send out a final confirmation until the last day. Day by Day isn't really necessary in most cases. The cases where you might want to do it is for a popular date (New Years Eve), a Grand Villa or Boardwalk Standard.

For your home resort, you can call 11 months ahead of your desired check out date. If you want to reserve the night of 12/6/2003, you can call on January 6, 2003.

Some people call day by day to be sure of getting a ressie during the more popular times. For example, a standard view at BWV in early December can be tough to get. Let's say you wanted to stay 5 nights and check in on 12/1/2003 and check out on 12/6/2003.

On 1/2/2003, you would call and reserve the night of 12/1. On 1/3/2003, you would call and add the night of 12/2. (Remember, you call 11 months ahead of your check OUT date). Since MS isn't open on Saturdays or Sundays, you'd have to wait until Monday, 12/6/2003 to reserve the last three nights - 12/3, 12/4 & 12/5.
