Booking VGF for Next September- How Will I Know Which Building?

A week from now I will be booking at VGF. I want the DVC building villas. When I book, will I automatically be placed there? I am booking a lake view and DO NOT want the new Pine Creek Building. Wondering if I need to make a room request specifying this?

I am hoping the new building is a separate booking category. But since we don’t know, I am wondering if I am guaranteed the original DVC building?

I am reasonably confident that there will be a separate booking category for the new “Resort Studios” in BPK, to separate them from the “Deluxe Studios” (and other villas) in the original VGF building. Disney has been pretty consistent about differentiating these new rooms with that new name - not a guarantee, but the new name and the new configuration of the rooms (2 queen beds, no microwave) gives me that confidence.

I am sure if you book something now, you will get the existing building.

Beyond that, I think @CarolynFH is right; it makes sense for the new building to be booked separately. I'm hoping the VGF1/VGF2 bookings are similar to Jambo/Kidani bookings. I'm hoping when you book, you'll always know what building you are getting.

Great point!

When someone books at room at VGF1 and they look at "Room Details", they see (for example):

The new rooms are not a deluxe studio so you will be booking the current rooms.

I imagine that Big Pine Key will be its own booking category as well, just like Jambo and Kidani.

The VGF Value rooms but just for more points (you know to cover the extra cost of the extra bed).

Does anyone know for sure about the room configuration for the new GF ? I keep seeing posts saying no micro, no kitchenette, etc. I have not seen any information from DVC or any of the usual “reliable sources” unless I’ve missed something. I’ve seen the floor plans for the units they are converting and it is totally doable. They did so with the Poly, and granted the kitchenettes there are not the best (in my opinion) but they have everything you need.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I would love an opportunity to stay there. Haven’t had the opportunity to stay in the stand alone building yet either. TIA.

Disney announced it would be 2 queens and a day bed along with a beverage centre with beverage cooler and coffee maker. No mention of kitchenette.

Noticed some odd booking next year for Standard Studios? Some sort of walking going on with the Standard Studios, single days not available mostly on the weekends. Noticed it in August as well. Not sure if its something to do with them adding all the Studios to the current association. Not sure what it is but I'm not liking this.

Is anyone expecting that the new resort studios at BPK will be the same # of points as the deluxe studios in the VGF? Yes, they have a second actual bed, but they DON't have a refrigerator or microwave.IMO, they'd better be cheaper.

They're also larger though and I believe there will be some park views so it will be interesting to see what the chart looks like.

Thanks for that. I missed their September 30 announcement. Why would you have a beverage center with no sink? I guess they expect you to eat all meals out? I guess it would be nice for a night or two on the deluxe dining plan (if it ever returns). But that’s my limit on eating out. Will be interesting to see the points. They do mention quartz countertops....but for what? Holding the coffeemaker?
Sorry to get off topic.

These appear to be targeting the people who just want a regular hotel room....that's been a complaint of people in the past with regards to DVC/studios. They just want the 2 real beds and don't plan on eating in the room anyways. I'd book these studios. If I'm planning on doing more eating in the room then I'll book a 1BR instead of a studio.

I doubt customers mattered. They flipped the cheapest property they could hike the price and the chart on, which happened to be hotel rooms. This is a very small project compared to RIV, just to look like something new is happening.

And I agree it will be a new booking category, based on the new releases. This allows a higher point chart and more money.

Why would you have a beverage center with no sink?…
I assume it’s because plumbing for a sink outside the bathroom costs money & this looks like it is a quick soft/hard good refurb w/ no new walls/fixtures.
Any ideas what they mean by "beverage cooler"?
I’m having visions of a little igloo cooler sitting on the counter next to the coffee maker lol.
