Hi,

I'm reanting points from fmy riend and tomorrow is the 7 month window. I will be e-mailing her all my info so she can make the reservations for me.

We are going the week of Sept. 6 (labor day week). 5-nights in a 2 bedroom.
We went Labor day week last year and booking 7 months out got BWV standard view 2-bedroom,

We really like the EPCOT resort area and would like to stay in that area again. We were able to get more points this year so I can request a preferred view.

Here's my question...our first choice will be BWV preferred view 2 bedroom.
2nd choice will be BCV (I know is harder to get than BWV). NOW, should my third choice be BWV Standard View?? I know many say standard view books out faster than preferred because it's less points. But, are there more standard views available then preferred? If they don't have preferred views avialable, but do have standard - will they give me standard instead or go to my 2nd choice?

I just want to make sure I cover all my bases to optimize my chances of gettign BWV or BCV. I don't care about the point difference between standard & preferred. My friend gave us a very good rate for the points and if I don't use them all, I will just let her keep the left over points.

The rest of my choices will be in this order - VWL, AK Savannah View, SSR. I'm pretty sure I can get SSR. And though I know VWL & AK are probably wonderful (I've stayed at both resorts non-DVC), we really like the convenience of the EPCOT resorts.

Thanks for your input....

There are 2 separate categories of preferred view at BW--pool/garden or BW view. They require the same number of points. If you want a view of the BW and Crescent Lake then be sure to request BW view. BW view rooms are about 20% of the resort and standard view rooms are about 20%. The rest are preferred: pool or canal to DHS or Village Green (although I don't think VG has any 2 bedrooms, not sure).
For your week you will have a good chance at BW view and an excellent chance of pool/garden view. It is your decision which of these you would prefer. Because your week is pretty easy to book you may also have a good chance for BCV. If you want this as an option you should think about whether you want a lock off (1 bedroom and studio connected) or a dedicated (which will only have one entrance door--and you can request either 2 beds or a bed and sofa in the 2nd bedroom).
So do some thinking and let your kind friend know so she will be prepared for any eventuality. Have fun in September!

Thanks for the input jekjones! Last year we were in a 2-Bedroom lock off at BWV (I think they only have lock offs) and there was one bed and a sofa in the 2nd room which I gues is standard as we didn't request either way. But for BCV I'll make sure I'm specific.

I think we'll go for Garden/Pool view at BWV as I also want the 1st floor. DS is a very active 2yro and I like the fact that the balcony is on the ground. Plus it was easy getting to bus stop and boat and pool being on 1st Fl.

Do you suggest any specific view/location for BCV?

I so appreciate my friend renting points and I do want to make sure I have all the info she needs to make the ressies. That's why I like to have choices listed as well so she won't have to come back to me if something isn't available - she just goes to the next choice.

Thanks Again!

If you want a pool view, I am sure it will be available. You are right--all 2 bedrooms at BWV are lock-offs.
I don't think that there are any spectacular views at BCV. If a ground floor room is important to you then I would make that request no matter which resort you book. You might even want to ask for ground floor pool view.

WendyBird, have you been to WDW before at this time? I'm also considering a trip from Sept. 6-11 but have never been at that time before. How do you find the weather and the crowds? Thanks!

Are you picking BWV over BCV because of what you think is availability? If you're OK with a lock off, I think there's a good chance of getting BCV, a lock off for your dates.

Best wishes.

We went Sept 8-15, 2002 for our honeymoon. There were no crowds at all! I remember riding the TTA and looking out over Tomorrowland and thinking, "Is it really 11am?" There were only a handful of people walking around. We never waited in line more than about 15 minutes and that was for RNRC.

Now, the weather was a whole different story...it was HOT! I think the lowest daytime temperature we had all week was 89. It was in the mid-90's most of the time. I recall 1-2 afternoon thunderstorms, and I think there was a hurricane that made landfall on one of our last days there.

We're planning on going the first week of June this year and I am hoping that the weather won't be THAT hot! I don't think we'll leave the pool if it is!:beach:
