Booking through Costco but speaking to Disney?

I know that if you call Costco to book an ABD trip, you really are getting connected to Disney. Does anyone know if it's the same if you book a cruise through Costco? I'm looking at booking the Med Cruise with ABD add on.

Is it cheaper booking through Costco ?

I've not booked a Disney Cruise through Costco, but I have booked other cruise lines with them. Rather than any sort of cash back, they offered me a larger on-board credit.

Costco has the dollar amount of the cash card for each DCL cruise on their website. It's $215 per stateroom for the 11-day Med cruise. That's for Cat 11B. It's says in the fine print that the amount is based on the category of stateroom, so I assume it goes up from $215.

So I wonder if Carol will get a cash card for the cruise, and a separate one for the ABD? I would think she should!

I would think so too. Actually I misstated the basis for the cruise cash card. It's really based on the price paid for the stateroom category. And it's per room. And it's says up to $215 per stateroom.

I've always booked our trips on my own and hate to give up the control. I know an ABD trip through Costco, you're really talking to Disney. I'm hoping it's the same with a cruise since I have to book the Med cruise/ABD through the cruise line. I'm more comfortable dealing direct with Disney but would love the Costco perks.

Once you book, please let us know how they handle the cash cards for the DCL and ABD combo.

I didn't book my cruise through Costco, so I can't help you. You could try posting this question over at the Disney Cruise Line Forum, and see if anyone there has booked a cruise through Costco.

And just to warn you, getting answers to your questions about the ABD add-on via DCL is not nearly as easy or satisfying as getting the answers from ABD. But ABD defers all questions for the add-on to DCL. Hopefully, they've learned a bit from this year, and your experience next year won't be quite as frustrating as mine! ABD really spoils us as far as communication goes.
