Booking SW with points

I haven't booked with points in a while with SW, but I remember the Sept 11 fee being refundable back to my cc if I had to cancel. I read recently where people have said they only got the option on the website to hold for future use. Can anyone confirm whether the Sept 11 fee is currently refundable if I have to cancel? Thanks.

Yes, it's refundable, as long as you never "change" a reservation. If you want a complete refund, travel must be canceled and rebooked, if wanted; otherwise, the taxes/fees will be held as travel funds.

So I can no longer book with points, completely cancel the reservation, and received the Sept 11 fee back to my cc as a refund?

I cancelled a flight the other day. I did not rebook. The fee was immediately returned to my credit card.

Yes you can cancel I just did it 3 times today. You have to click the drop down and select refund option. If its a reservation that you preformed a change reservation function on to either pick a new date, the price was lower and you wanted to get a refund for the price difference or whatever the reason was that you did a change to the orginal reservation and now what to cancel, you can not get a refund.

I just did this yesterday with no issues with a reservation that I had booked with points and never changed. The refund has already been processed to my credit card.
