I was on Capital One's travel page looking for hotels and it brought up SSR booking through VRBO. Is this legit?!

I can’t find it when I search but the search is terrible on there portal. I did see a listing on VRBO though. It is probably one of those commercial renters. $1,375 for a 2 bedroom in September 2026 for one night.
27 or 35 points a night depending on category so that means they are charging $39.29 or $50.93 a point!!!

Not to mention you can’t even book September 2026 yet.

Surprised they didn’t up the listing to say it sleeps 9 when the refurb was done to charge $60 a point.

It was actually for a studio. I won't be booking. Suspicious!

Hmmmm I feel like this is not legit. I’d have to research but are timeshares allowed on these type of platforms. Are there reviews ?

Yeah, there are much better places to rent DVC, with significantly more visibility, thanks to the incessant advertising in the Disney ecosystem by the major borkers.

We’ve rented a week at SSR that was booked thru a different timeshare - using Interval, I think. It was advertised on one of the brokers websites, we got it for $10 per point. It was odd checking in, we had been issued a guest certificate to use. No issues though and a great week for not much money.

It could depend on your dates. I was looking at last week of February.
Just to make sure I'm on the same site which is travel.capitalone.com ? That is what I get redirected to after clicking book travel once logged in to my capital one account.

I searched day by day in February (all) and some in January and March but no dice at all for SSR or OKW

I get both Port Orleans resorts to show up CBR, RIV the JW Bonnet Creek and a bunch of Disney Springs but no luck with the these 2 DVC resorts. Other DVC resorts do show up but I'm trying not to have to move.

Yes that is the site I was on. I’ll check it again later when I have a moment!

Ok I just put my dates in again and SSR isn’t showing up. Strange!

Just a reminder that Interval does not allow exchanges to be rented. (Neither does RCI.) In the past II has been proactive at cancelling such rentals, but it hasn't been happening recently. They can be very good deals, but they carry non-trivial risk.

If you are not sure if something you are looking at is an exchange: Exchanges are always for full weeks, always starting on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. They are usually 1BRs, most often in SSR and OKW. They require an II guest certificate (unless the owner is going to check in for you---which itself is a big red flag), and a $190 fee paid to the resort on check-in.

Now I am on my laptop, and I am getting a 1 bedroom at 455 a night:

It might be since you are looking for multiple nights. I was just looking for one night so I guess the VRBO people have no interest in me lol
