I’m planning to book on the Fantasy (again!) tomorrow and I’d like to use Costco. Do they have access to the Castaway Club Pre-Sale or do I need to book direct and then transfer the reservation?

Thanks!

I tried to book Costco online on opening day (public, no status) and nothing was posted so I booked with DCL directly. Very easy to transfer.

I booked my last one by phoning Costco who then phoned DCL, but I had a placeholder. Now that online booking is available, if I were not using a placeholder I’d book with DCL first and transfer to Costco.

I had a placeholder with OBB credit so I had to call Costco instead of book online. I called Costco this morning at 7:59am. They then called DCL and was on hold for about 45 mins. Costco was able to still get our 1st choice stateroom with DCL, which incidentally showed up as unavailable on the DCL website the whole entire time we were on hold.

ughhh Costco has had me on hold for 10 minutes and still hasn't picked up. Of course I have to work today.

the website was working for you?

I have a placeholder and trying to book with Costco. They're still on hold trying to get in with Disney

If it is nope open to the public Costco has to call Disney to book

been on hold over an hour, still haven't spoken to anyone. Looks like I won't be able to get it done this morning...

same and the website is not working for me

I called yesterday during gold status. DCL wesbite working great at 7:30am then at 8:00am the DCL website started going up and down maybe every 5-10 mins. I got Costco on the line at 7:59am. They got a hold of DCL recording and stayed on hold wth DCL for about 45 mins. After DCL picked up it was a 5-10 min process with Costco and everything was booked.

Be sure to tell costco what you want exactly even if the website shows that it is not available (assuming the website comes up for you).

For me, I wanted Forward starboard as first choice and website was shown that none were available. So during the hold, I detailed to costco, that the stateroom I really wanted was starboard forward and to check that first even though it shows as unavailable, I then provided him with 2nd and 3rd choice which showed as available. After DCL finally picked up, they were able to give us our 1st choice. I do not know why it shows as unavailable. (we guess it was due to all of the 24 hour phone holds from the platinum call in day).

I hope you are successful this morning in getting what you want. Have a great Disney day!

Should I have some kind of number that I booked a placeholder, because I don't think the cast member gave me anything when I did the placeholder? We were running to a meet and great with Anna and Elsa so I don't know if in the rush I misplaced it?

UVAWahoo,

I know exactly the cabin I want and it's showing available but I can't get through... Soooo frustrating...

Costco just said "I'm sorry we are unable to process your request, try again later" and hung up on me... Are you kidding me?

Wow! I am hearing from others also that Costco's queue can not handle the volume and it is crashing and hanging up on people. The castmember should have emailed your OBB number to you. You will need that for fastest service but if you do not have it, I am sure Costco can work with DCL to find it.

I have also read on the boards that some folks are making the reservations online and then call costco/dcl to transfer that booking to costco. But, honestly, I do not know the DCL rules when it comes to that. It maybe worth a call to DCL and as you are making the reservations ask if you can transfer it to costco (on the DCL call and/or on the website), if not then you will need to go through costco.

If costco won't answer, I would call DCL direct and let the castmember tell you the options you have to still get costco credit.

If you do this, please post the result so the rest of us know the rules also.

Thanks. I hope you are successful in getting what you want.

Unfortunately I have to go to work, so this will have to wait! :rotfl: Ughhh, so wanted to get this done this morning.

I ended up booking direct with DCL since I do not have a placeholder to use. I'm going to call and transfer it to Costco later this week when things calm down a bit. Good luck everyone!!

I was on hold for about two and a half hours but she was really nice and called me back while I dropped off the kids and left the house in the morning
