Ok FW experts....

Im getting really close to booking my families first WDW vacation and I've priced it all out online and Im just waiting for the vacation time to be approved by our employers.

My question is....when booking should I call WDW or book it online. When booking online can you request a loop anywhere?

Thank in advance.

I think it really depends on what you are booking on how you book it. If I was booking a full package, I would go through my AAA agent. If I am booking just a site at FW, I book online and then call and have them adjust to the AAA rate if applicable. You can't reserve a particular site or loop when you book, but I remember reading on here a long while back that you could send a fax in requesting a certain area before your trip. Hope this helps...have a magical trip!! :)

Yay, exciting! I agree with Naturemom, book online unless you have something kind of different to work with. But then again, I prefer online stuff to waiting on hold, pushing all sorts of buttons, then talking to someone and rying to spell stuff for them. We have a tough last name, so in the amount of time it takes me to get through spelling it, I should have already been through the whole booking process :rotfl:

You can always call back if you want to make any changes or upgrades.

And yeah, no loop requests (other than level: partial, full, preferred, or premium) either when calling or booking online.

Search on 'fax loop request' or something like it to get the time frame and fax number, and sample fax wording to request a specific loop. We're at 50/50 with it being successful in the two trips we've taken...but there really are no bad sites or loops at the Fort :)

ETA: OK, found a good old post with fax info: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39172262&postcount=22

Thanks guys! Im like you I hate calling and talking to people if I don't have too. I would rather just go click click send. I will have to check out the fax request. We are still up in the air if we want a full or premium site. Im really not concerned on where we are put but if I know the loop it will help on the possible GC budget. Im still looking into that. LOL

The one advantage of calling is you can ask for your discount if available (AAA in my case) and also get your loop request in all at the same time. The wait isn't usually too bad, the voice recognition system is better than the one my company uses, and the Cast Member on the other end usually speaks English flawlessly.

Any combination of online-call-fax works I suppose but I prefer "one and done".

:thumbsup2 I prefer the phone also.

My preference is to call at 7:00AM eastern and speak to a CM, just like I did 2 weeks ago to make 6 reservations for the rest of this year, January's Marathon Weekend reservation and to cancel one.

The CM checked for all available discounts, asked if there were any special celebrations, asked if I had loop requests and even made note of sites I wanted and just switched our cancelled reservation to one that I was making. She happened to be very knowledgeable and also camps at FW.

p.s. she also made sure I don't forget to fax a week before about loop/site request.
