I'm from US. I've been to Disneyland California (are passholders) & WDW.
This will be a first for myself and 18 & 22 year old daughters.
I've been to France just not Disney. Of course kids, even though legal adults want to stay in Disney!
We will be going January 4th - 8th in 2008.
Has anyone from anywhere booked using the disneylandparis.com site? Is it a lot more expensive then when you book using a travel agent? Do you get your itinerary etc on time?
Is anyone from the U.S that has booked using a travel agent and if so, who?
Can I use a UK site to book or is that not a great idea?
Can we do the Paris tour from Disney in January? I know they have it as an option on their site and it says it can be booked at hotel but do they do this in January?
One more question...Besides the Disney Hotel (which came to over $3,000 U.S. Dollars (2,206.86 EUR) for 4 nights + tickets on the disney site) what hotel would you recommend? We want to stay on site. Disney Hotel was going to be it but for a standard room, it seemed a bit much for January...or anytime for that matter ;) I am looking for anything up to 1600 EUR for the 4 nights.
Thanks!

I can recommend the Hotel Newport Bay Club. If you book a room on Admirals Floor you can have a similar experience as in the Disneyland Hotel (DLH).

The Hotel New York has the same service as the DLH but I think it will cost a little bit more than 1600€. Although in January it could be possible that you can get the HNY for 3 adults for 1600€!?

Have a look at my thread here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1482392

We stayed in the HNY in June (2 adults) and we paid 1040€ for 4 nights and 5 days including the extra for the lake view room. But this was a 4=3 offer. I'm not sure if this will be available in early January.
The picture was taken from the 7th floor of the HNY. What you can see on the picture is the Newport Bay Club. Ain't that a great hotel? If you should stay there it is also worth to pay the extra for the lake view!

This picture was taken at night. In the other thread is the daytime picture!

Marcus, thank you. Newport was the one I was thinking of but there were mixed reviews. I know where you stayed probably is within walking distance, does the same hold true for Newport Bay? I was also thinking about Hotel New York but the Newport had the Admiral Floor perk.

Cyrano, the problem is I cannot seem to find any U.S. travel sites that book Disneyland Paris. I have looked and looked! This is why I had asked about U.K sites because there are so many hotel deals and none at all for U.S. Expedia is no good because it says "no rooms available" when I know they are because the Disneyland Paris site would let me book whatever I want. I just wanted to see if I could get better prices. As when I first looked at the DP site at the DLH, the price was 1,000 EUR cheaper and it was only 3 days before.

Yes the HNY, NPBC and the Sequoia Lodge are within walking distance to the park.
HNY = 7 minutes
NPBC = 12 minutes
SL = 12 minutes

You should keep in mind that the HNY has a higher standard than the NPBC. Because the service that you get only in Admiral Floor rooms you will get in any of the HNY rooms.

If I had to choose between HNY and NPBC I would choose NPBC because I love the New England theme. We have stayed there many times and we always had a very nice experience.

This was our room in October 2006

This was the view from our room

Marcus, I see you also stayed at the Sequoia Lodge. What did you think of that? I look at the hotel threads on this board and many are from 2005 and no one has added anything to them so it is hard to judge some of them. The Sequoia also had looked nice. I always book early but cannot make up my mind :)

Might be worth reading some recent trip reports as well as sometimes comments are made in those about the hotels

Smallworld, Thanks. I have been doing that but it just confuses me more since no one really agrees on any one hotel. I know both my kids want to do downtown Disney after hours and no shuttle will be doing that in the middle of the night in the winter. I wanted somewhere within walking distance for them. Disneyland Hotel was going to be it but not when I can get Newport Bay or Sequoia for 1000 dollars cheaper.

But back to the original question, is there any booking agents in US for Disney Paris or has anyone used the disneylandparis.com website for booking their trip and did you receive all your documents?

Pulled out this thread to see if this helps :)

thanks, Cyrano - I went looking for that, but you must have the more powerful search function as I couldn't find it! ;)
