Booking port adventures while you're already on another Cruise.

Hi all,

So we have just realised that our Port Adventures & Activities are going to open for our next cruise - while we are already on a Disney Cruise. Does anyone have experience with this happening? Are they able to assist on board somehow? It looks like it will be on an At Sea day so internet onboard isn't always reliable but I know there will be certain things we don't want to miss out on. We won't have anyone who can take care of it on land either.

Any experience you have would be wonderful.

You can't even book a new cruise while on board (with a human) so can't imagine they would do Port Adventures. i would just get the high end wifi package for those 24 hours. The wifi is reportedly much better than it used to be.

I had to check in three times this Summer while being onboard. no help onboard and crappy internet. The only advantage is that you don't need a specific internet package to access the dcl page. Also my last time the dcl website wanted to do a security check and sent me a verification code. Since I only had a social media package I wouldn't have been able to access the code. I went over to guest relations, explained the issue and they gave me a free internet code for 10 min so I could access the verification code and continue my check in!

As others have said, you can access the DCL website for free while onboard a cruise so you can book your port adventures. Unfortunately my experience is you cannot use the app in part because it puts you in the "in a cruise mode" not the "before a cruise mode" automatically and I could never find a way to switch. That meant logging into the very very very slow free to use DCL webpage and booking each Port Adventure that way. The page crashed a lot, and was endlessly slow. In my more recent experience, it took an hour (yes 60 minutes) to book all the Port Adventures I wanted. My suggestion is for sure know exactly what you want to book, and have 2nd and 3rd choices. using the slow free internet to browse options is extremely painful.

Thank you everyone for your replies! They're all much appreciated. Hopefully we can log on and get what we want, even if we have to pay for internet to do so. We're willing to pay, as I know we want to book a few things that usually sell out quite quickly. Worst case, we miss out on a few things. We can hardly complain about booking Port Adventures for another Disney Cruise while already on a Disney Cruise

Why don’t you have someone not on the ship do it for you? They should be able to message you through iMessage or WhatsApp too.
