Booking Point Prioritization

I am slowly closing on my 11 month window for booking a trip next September/October. I have a SEP use year, and do not expect that I will use my remaining 2023 points in the next 11 months. So of course I'd like to use them for this trip. Do I need to bank the points before I use them, or will the system take my "oldest" points to make the trip. Based on my initial research, I think I need to bank them, but I'm still pretty new at this and would like to ask some DVC vets. Thank you!

If your trip will take place in your 2024 use year (and it sounds like it will), then yes, you must bank the 2023 points if you want to use them for that trip.
