Last Sunday I met a woman at the park who told me that she works in corporate events. About four (eight?) years ago, she was able to book the entire park for her 3000-person event. They got it from 8:00 p.m. till midnight. Not every land was available to them. Toontown wasn’t and she thought that Fastasyland wasn’t either. But of course she said it was a blast. She wouldn’t say how much it cost but she said it was fantastic (no real surprise).

Crowds seemed heavy at the gate and at rope drop. Despite that, later in the morning things seemed just fine.

I met up with a mother and daughter from the board. I’d sent her some graduation buttons recently and they were at the park that day to celebrate her graduation. Shortly before rope drop, CMs brought them to the front of the castle to take some pics. She called out to me on their way back behind the rope and we met up shortly after the park opened.

Sone pics from the park. I realize that some of these are rotated 90° but I’m in a bit of a rush and don’t have time to fix them now. I wish there was a quick and easy way to do it but if there is one, I don’t know it. Sorry :-).

A few more. Incidentally, this is the first time that I’ve ever seen them make Easter eggs. I never even knew they did this :-). I was told that they’re only done on Sundays and (Thursdays?) and are then for sale the following day. They’re limited, of course, some so sort of reservation is required. I believe you get it at the park on the day of. 50E86B8C-4DDE-4E51-B80B-BEA10FD08960.jpeg54F576FD-AE6B-40AA-9788-908B17C333E4.jpeg46A6BE35-EB8E-47FC-AF63-4BE0A1D5C6CB.jpegBB18E158-6E4F-4BDB-A153-29A4C50315E3.jpeg494F00F5-6B42-4C43-A77B-E2F908EC8D76.jpeg7F225EE7-B241-415C-AA4F-647D4B8C4220.jpegC6970C1A-E0EC-4304-A20C-D7ACFB6F60C1.jpeg6F6193C5-C0EA-4B4C-94CA-910289BD6DBD.jpeg48F146F9-0B79-4CE2-B8D3-579A21395062.jpeg143D78A2-5990-416F-A891-F7FF09F78439.jpeg

Back in the day when DL closed early during the winter (and on Mon & Tues too), private/corporate parties were a 'thing'. I used to attend the Telephone Pioneer private party back in the '70s. I was usually late Nov/early Dec and from 8pm - 1 am. There were quite a bit more than 3000 attendees, but it was still a low crowd night. I also remember some of the big corps in So Cal having 'Nights', too. B of A and General Dynamics were two of them if memory serves. I think when they started staying open later year round those parties sort of faded into Yesterland.

A few years ago my son attended one like the lady you met was talking about. Parts of DL were 'booked out' by a celebrity for a private party for friends and business associates (DS is the latter). He's not a Disney fan so didn't have much to say about it other than the food was good and there were no lines. I don't remember what Lands they had reserved.

My DH and I are going to be in DL the end of May for our Anniversary. Where is the best place to rope drop Peter Pan? Last time we were there people came from all different directions when we rope dropped Fantasyland. I always love all your pictures and the ducks are too cute!!

Ill never forget this once happened at MK , and they started with crazy loud music at 9pm and it went on till Midnight.

We were at the GF, with little little kids whom were exhausted from the day.

None of us could sleep, it was terrible. It could be heard with the widows closed.

GF had a line of people at the CS counter that morning wIth complaints.

As always I appreciate and love the photos...thanks so much for the ones of the young ducks, so cute! Makes me want to be there NOW! Have a wonderful day!

Tomorrowland in Hong Kong Disneyland used to often get booked out for company parties in the fall. There were some years it was closed for an evening almost every single week of the Halloween season. The Train Station and parts of Fantasyland would also be booked out for private events.

They still do corporate event buy outs...have been to a few closed events at both DL and DW and they are a blast if you are a Park fan.

Most impressive was an event that Disney World was actually hosting for an industry event and they went all out to impress. Imaging DW and all the rides open with no lines walk on and all the pathways covered in DJ,s party furniture, and lined with free buffets and open bars as well as all the quick serve locations open (all free) topped off with characters out and everywhere then a private fireworks show at the castle.

That recently happened pre shutdown at DCA and the Grand...there was an after hours party at DCA till 1am and the music was thumping all the way through the entire hotel all night...everyone was ticked off to say the least.

About ten years ago I was visiting NYC (my favorite city in the world). The place I stayed in Brooklyn was cool… but it was immediately across from a club and the dance floor was on the same level as my room. It was like setting up a bed on a dance floor of the hottest club in the city. The good news was that it was only like that on Friday and Saturday nights.

The challenge with the question is that the CMs who staff the ropes (three around the hub that face Fantasyland) aren’t in sync. Sometimes one side is let in a few seconds before the others. A five-second lead can mean the difference between being fifth in line and being fiftieth. Having said that, I always go to the right side of the hub (as it faces the castle). Part of that is merely habit and another is that many of the people with whom I’m acquainted know that’s where I can be found when I’m there. As long as you’re at the rope and not three or four rows back (and can walk quickly) you should be within the first twenty people or so on the ride.

Hope this helps and hope to say hello to you at the rope when you’re there in May :-).

Thank-you, we'll try the right side then. My DH and I will say hi if we see you!
