WDW first. This is a huge trip of firsts!
First WDW trip for any of us. First time to Orlando for hubby and son. Big family reunion which hasn't happened since the 90s when my mom and grandma were still alive. First DVC villa stay (we bought into Bay Lake without ever having been to WDW...we've used our points twice, but not at a villa, just at
Disneyland Hotel and in a hotel-side room at the Grand Californian). First time having our family stay with us on a Disney trip! First time to Universal for us.
We're going to have buttons galore, LOL.
We're staying in all sorts of places onsite at WDW, we're in Orlando a total of 18+ days I believe it is at last count. Starting with just a hotel room at WDW, to get over jet lag. No parks. Then meeting the family and staying in a 2 bedroom, going to as many parks as possible. Then moving to a 1 bedroom villa and playing by ourselves. THEN Universal! Then back to WDW for a few more days, though our tickets will be about to run out by then, but that's OK because we want to explore.
The package I just booked is the Harry Potter package I've had my eye on since they announced the packages BEFORE they announced the opening dates. Could have gone a la carte, but that commemorative ticket just called our, er, DH and DS's especially, names. I know, silly reason to book a package, but hey, those marketing folks are GOOD. And we might not have gone to Universal at all on this trip, but we juts *could not* go Orlando during the year that WWOHP opened and not go to WWOHP! Would have been crazy.
We did our first trip back to Disneyland in '05, and I had NO idea that Space Mountain had been closed for so long or that it was a big deal year.

But we knew this was a big deal year for Universal, that's for sure!
Anyway, the package is for 3 nights at Royal Pacific (the looks of it just appeal to me, it's the one aspect of this entire vacation where I just made the decision with no dithering beforehand), bought 4 day tickets, it's going to be fun!
DS is on the young side for HP, and he hasn't even seen beyond the second movie, so Hogsmeade will be a mystery to him, and he might not *want* to ride FJ (he's 47.5 inches though right now, and I'm sure he'll be *able* to ride it if he wants to), but since Universal lets people into the ride queue even if they can't ride, that's lovely for him!
Gosh, can you tell I'm excited?
It's not just HP that we're going for, of course, the whole place really appeals to us. I anticipate fun!
